Dr. Russell Jay Laudon, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Laudon for about eight years ( Iam 63 now) and in my opinion and based in my experience with other doctors , he is a great doctor. I had prostate cancer 12 year ago and it was removed by surgery , after surgery and for the following 4 years I lived a miserable life . I saw many doctor with the same complain looking for help , and time after time after 5 - 10 MINUTES of quick examination those doctors found that nothing was wrong with me, "IT IS YOUR AGE"..." YOU SHOULD WORK LESS' .. "TAKE YOUR VITAMINS " ..."GO HOME AND REST MORE " , those were their recommendations . Then by a friend recommendation I went to see Dr. Laudon, and although the wait time can be lengthy at times , when one finally mets with him one can see why they were waiting. He goes into great details with each examination , to find the root of the problem, he wants to get to know the patient well on a personal basis as well as to diagnose the correct medical condition. … After many tests this good doctor Laundon found what went wrong with my body after surgery , and he fixed me . I am very thankful for that.

Having once been a regular patient at this walk-in facility, the Dr. proceeded to review my medical history from 10 years ago and began his lecture. I clearly explained to him that I didn't stop going to the Dr., I just stopped going to his facility due to his associates failures & that all my issues had been or were being addressed elsewhere. It took him 45 minutes to get to the problem at hand which he waved off as nothing and then tried to schedule various unnecessary tests. I stopped him dead in his tracks and walked out. The next morning I woke up with swollen glands as I knew I would.

Dr Laudon is Board Certified in internal medicine. He is also well versed in alternative medicine. I have been his patient for more than 3 years. He told me that I'm an "unusual case" since although my total cholesterol count is over 400 (extremely high and potentially dangerous) my other vital signs are all basically normal. Rather than to automatically put me on a statin drug, he provided me with two diagnostic alternatives to rule out (or confirm) atherosclerosis (plaque), I have recently undergone the first test (cardiac PET) the results of which were "unremarkable" (within the normal range for men in my age group of 65-75 years old) I have not yet undergone the second test (EBCT heart-scan which measures "calcium score" for the coronary arteries). All of this might sound like overkill to some, but in my case, I would like to avoid taking statin drugs (with their potential side effects).

I went in for cold symptoms His nurse attempted to to 3 sonograms without me even being seen by the doctor first. When the doctor arrived an hour later he scolded me in the hall way because I refused the sonogram. I at least wanted to ask why I needed them. He would not hear of it. he said he would not see me unless I had the sonograms first. Gave me the feeling that he was trying to bully me into having unnecessary procedures to pad the bill. I spoke to another patient who told me that the doctor refused to release test results without the individual receiving more unnecessary test.
