UNETHICAL & MORE... PCP referred to Ruthanna Hunter for diagnoses from neurosurgeon. Hunter was downright negligent! To give details would require more than I am able to type. First visit she came into exam room for about 3 minutes tops, only asking who, if anyone, I'd been seen by. She didn't ask any questions about why I was there, of any symptoms, etc. She only ordered MRIs with contrast, of which Id already had done within months, for the neurosurgeon who did my diagnostics testing. I tried to ask why I had to be subjected to more dye, or MRI, but she walked out of the room as I was asking! My PCP asked me why Hunter needed to repeat the recent MRIs. I had no answer. The MRIs were also going to be very expensive, & I hadn't even paid for last ones yet! I had decided to apply for financial assistance before incurring the expense I could not pay for, & to meanwhile try to determine, as PCP said, "why can't she look at the current ones?" & "does she think she can read MRIs better… than a neurosurgeon?". I called Hunters office to ask if I should keep my appointment, which was scheduled at first appointment for less than two weeks later. I asked could we begin discussing my neurological symptoms, as spinal fluid pressure was an urgent issue, in particular. I was told, "Yes. Keep appointment, even though you haven't gotten MRIs yet." I asked could they please ask the doctor, to be sure, as its very difficult for me to get ride, & to just get myself ready & the ride is very painful. They transferred me to a nurse, who also said yes, come on in. Again, I asked could she please ask the doctor, to be sure. The nurse put me on hold, then returned, & told me the doctor says keep your appointment, but that she didn't know how far we would get without MRIs. I asked nurse did they send requests for MRIs I signed at first visit. She only said that they could come before the appointment. So, my driver took off work, drove to load me up, then to the appointment. Once there, the nurse gave me her hand & helped me to room, seemingly very nice. However, nurse came back in, BARKING that I was "SUPPOSED" to have had MRIs! I explained all to her, but she had come back in so hatefully, & she continued thustly. HUNTER WOULDN'T EVEN COME INTO EXAM ROOM! We could hear her saying mean, rude, unprofessional things, with exam door closed, but she REFUSED to even speak with me! She later claimed knowledge of my agony, so she clearly knew how difficult it was for me just to get there. Hunter had been told by nurse that I called in advance, & I had been told, by Hunter, to keep appointment, etc. THEN, she had the audacity to overcharge, charging the absolute highest visit fee, according to the CRMC Billing Rep. So she intentionally defrauded Medicare, which in turn falls the 20% to be paid by me. PLUS, she refused to discuss a single symptom, or a single medical thing, going so far as to have me come in, supposedly to begin discussion but didn't even bother to come into exam room, or otherwise communicate with me! I repeatedly disputed her billing, but as you can imagine, was only told ,repeatedly, that she was allowed to charge the fee she determined was appropriate! People, there was NOTHING appropriate about what she, or nurse did! Nurse ordered me that the"doctor" would NOT SEE ME ( AS I HAD BEEN VERY THOROUGH TO ENSURE THAT HUNTER STILL WANTED TO KEEP APPOINTMENT!) The nurse who had been so "nice" going into exam room, quickly became not only hateful & unprofessional, but she actually refused the help walking out, that she had offered going in, allowing me to stumble, in tears, back out of clinic! These folks are clearly only in medicine for the money. And they charge for services they don't even provide! How Hunter can be called "doctor" is quite obviously not based on what she does. Cruel, cold, uncaring, money grabbing, unprofessional, & unethical, lies barely below a smiling group facade.
