Dr. Ryan Davis Christensen, MD

Awful! Saw him for a post-op checkup. He is gruff and abrupt. Didn't even greet me. Just walked into the exam room with a scowl on his face and said, “Okay,” then proceeded to the equipment and said, “put your chin here.” Spent 30 seconds examining my eye and went on to describe the surgery as if my condition were much worse than previously noted. Answered none of the questions the technician had promised he would answer, just left the room. Wouldn’t recommend this physician to anyone. He should have considered a different profession. Perhaps he likes performing surgery (I cannot say whether he’s any good at it), but he certainly doesn’t like interacting with patients.

Very rude! In a hurry to get you out the door. Obviously didn't want any questions.

I am a semi-retired Family Practice Physician. He did not know that. I have seen the worst doctors, and the best doctors, and everything in between. This healer is absolutely one of the best. I came to him somewhat emergently, on the recommendation of a friend. After I was placed in an exam room and had undergone the preparation by a very pleasant nurse technician, I waited my turn to be seen. During that short wait I observed Dr. Christensen as he interacted with exiting patients. He was very pleasant, attentive and professional. As he entered my room and I saw his face for the first time, I had a brief flash of concern because he looks so young! But as soon as he began to speak, I immediately relaxed. He was thorough, courteous, pleasant and professional. He worked seamlessly with his assistant. He explained carefully that I had torn loose a small area of my retina, and that was what was causing the flashing that had brought me to him. They moved me to a treatment room and using a… lasar he quickly reattached my retina, all the while talking to me and giving me reassurances. He followed me regularly for a year and each visit I observed the same excellent and professional caregiving. Good physicians are their own worst critics. They set very high standards for themselves. This man should be cloned!

I found to have been well taken care of at this office. They genuinely care about your issues and comfort while in and out of their office. It was a breathe of fresh air. I have been there 5 times and will be returning if needed.

It was terrible misfortune that brought my daughter to Dr. Christensen. While Dr. Christensen was medically unable to save my daughters eye what he did give her was the ability to cope with the loss, He treated her with honesty, respect and care. He restored her faith, and her mothers, in the medical profession where it is rare to find a doctor that still cares about the whole person and not just the affliction they happen to be treating. Thank-you!

He treated me and my family very poorly. Awful bedside manner!!!!

When I made an appointment the staff informed me how long a new patient appointment could take. because of the testing involved and the fact that there are not that many retina specialist in the kansas city area i did not find 35 minutes unusual. Dr. Christensen was very thorough and gave me a great deal of confidence with his diagnosis. I have recommended him a thousand times and will continue to do so. The staff was incredible starting with the front desk, nurses and check out staff.

It was worth the wait. I believe he saved my vision. He is on the edge of technology, which I appreciate. I have found this not to be the case with older physicians.
