Dr. Ryan G Michaud, MD

Dr Ryan Michaud is one of the BEST in the Pain Management field in Round Rock, TX. I wore a spinal cord stimulator put in by him in 2017. I would highly recommend Advanced Pain Care to anyone looking for relief from migraines, cervical spine surgery and neuropathy. It saved me from taking lots of unnecessary medicine. Thank you Dr. Michaud and all who cared for me.

Dr Michaud tried to put me on methadone and then when I refused that and his implant surgery, refused to treat me because he said he ‘might lose his prescription privileges’. He then blocked me from using ANY other doctor in the entire AdvPaincare group. These docs make big money from surgery so that’s what they want to do whether it is appropriate or not.

At the time of injection he said no dye was needed with no explanation and performed injection and then just vanished, no real communication about what happened and what to expect,it seemed to be very cold and didn’t feel like a patient but a job.

Michaud has a demeanor which does not convey concern for patients. He is abrupt and does not appear interested in my needs. He does not seem interested in treating my pain as much as he does in getting in and out of the room as quickly as possible. Also, he spent time “teaching” me details about the Dx I’ve had for 20 years. He must know I am an educated person and that the info is redundant for me. A more observant doctor, in tune with patients would realize this.

Extremely friendly staff. Easy to establish new patient appt. Scheduling staff facilitated obtaining medical records prior to 1st appt. I'm extremely pleased with my appt with Dr, Michaud with Advanced Pain Care. Dr Michaud listened to my medical history and my concerns. Explained in detail the reasons for some of my experiences. Actually worked on helping me with my issues and concerns. When my current pain management physician discontinued servicing all of his intrathecal pain pump patients, I was frantic. I had been with him for 10+ years. I thought it would be a life long relationship. I felt abandoned and fearful that I was going to live the rest of my life in pain once again and possibly lose my job. I was dropped with basically a 30 day notice, no medication refills, no referrals, nothing! To make matter's worse, my pump medicaition was reduced prior to the dismissal due to a faulty catherter and surgery prep. Finding a pain doctor is like trying to find a spouse.… There must be a sense of trust, loyalty, and commitment between the doctor and patient because there is so much history, and pain during the journey. With that said, in my search for a new pain management doctor, I visited two other facilities prior to visiting Dr Michaud. The 1st facility was a nightmare from setting up the initial appt to the treatment from the receptionist to the clinical staff. In addition, the 1st appt was 3 hours late! The 2nd Facility: the doctor advised me that his job was not to help me with my pain as I was going to have to accept the fact that Pain was going to be a part of my life. So needless to say, Dr Michaud was and is a life saver! I finally found a doctor that is going to work with me to reduce my pain so that I can have a productive life once again! He gave me peace of mind that I would not be abandoned and that he was going to work with me. I'm Extremely grateful. Please keep in mind that pain is indeed a part of my life; however, it can be controlled to a point that I can have a productive life. Without a doctor working with me to find the correct balance, I'm practically bedridden and miserable. Dr Michaud is working with me and that is all that matters!!

Dr. Ryan is an excellent caring physician. There was little wait time. He is understanding and takes his time to explain things to me. I would recommend him to friends and family.

Young and inexperienced. I've had good success with some younger physicians, but this guy's terrible.

Great caring physician, our daughter went in for Anesthesia and he went out of his way to make sure her fears, questions and concerns were answered. After the surgery our daughter didn't even remember talking with him, which goes to show you that a great Anesthesiologist is very comfortable and selective using his drugs carefully and meticulously. Thank you, Dr. Michaud for a great job.

This doctor had no idea what he was doing. Tried to use a bunch of medical jargon and basically overdosed my spouse. Stay clear of this one
