Dr. Ryan Kent Workman, DO

WARNING - WARNING....DO NOT DO BUSINESS OF ANY KIND WITH MONOS HEALTH OR 215 SURGERY CENTER I have been dealing with several debilitating chronic pain issues for some time and was hospitalized in October 2015 for lesions in my spine. Following my discharge from the hospital, I continued to seek treatment through my general practitioner as well as a variety of specialists; neurologists, cardiologists, etc. I was referred to pain management soon after in November 2015 and saw Dr. Workman at Monos Health. Dr. Workman was a bit of a character, he liked to crack jokes which certainly put me, the patient, at ease. He diagnosed me with a new condition, Facet Joint Syndrome. Oddly enough, no other doctor since would diagnose me with such without having looked at an x-ray and other imaging for diagnosis. Dr. Workman did not look at any films and instead said that I must have spinal injections performed in order to alleviate the pain. The fine doctor said that the injections are… performed at a surgery center and that he uses the 215 Surgery Center just next door to Monos Health. I asked about billing and insurance, and Dr. Workman told me not to worry as 215 Surgery is owned by the same group of doctors as Monos Health and that all will be covered by my insurance provider. The Dr. continued by informing me that the procedure is so cheap, and the injected material is so benign, that I can go to 215 Surgery Center daily to be injected. I trusted Dr. Workman and scheduled the injections. I came in to 215 Surgery Center at my appointed time. I elected not to have any anesthesia as I needed to be able to drive myself back home following the procedure. Dr. Workman injected me a total of 6 times in my neck, twice per affected joint. I was at the surgery center for under an hour in total. I went home that morning to rest and recuperate. Unfortunately, I did not have any relief in the days or weeks following the procedure. Shortly after the injections were completed I received a bill from 215 Surgery Center for nearly $73,000! I was floored! They were charging me $12,136.00 for each injection. I immediately called the facility and the receptionist informed me that 215 Surgery Center is out of network for my insurance and as such my insurance company is refusing to cover it. I asked why Dr. Workman would tell me something different, after-all he told me not to worry, that both practices are owned by the same doctors and all would be covered. The receptionist said that I should not worry, that they do this all the time. She said that they will continue to file a claim with the insurance company until they are paid, and will waive any unpaid portion of the invoice. She then proceeded to ask when I would like to schedule the next round of injections. What nerve she had. I told her I will wait to see how this billing issue pans out first. This type of misleading billing practices, deceiving the clients into believing that their insurance is accepted, or that a procedure is approved, is fraudulent. This is absolutely fraudulent billing practices and should be outlawed, and instead 215 Surgery is now threatening to put me in collections. Do yourself a favor and avoid Monos Health and 215 Surgery Center, they are scam artists, twisting the loose NV state laws to cheat their patients out of the few pennies they have. Their practices and procedures are abhorrent, they do not look out for their patient and are certainly far from being an advocate for their patients. I'm curious as to how much Dr. Workman earns since he considers $73,000 for a simple, benign procedure cheap.

Dr. Workman has seen me for the past 2 years and all I can say is he is completely professional, personable and knowledgeable in the Pain Management field. I've never been treated so well or helped so much in my life.

this guy had his mind made up about me before i ever set eyes on him. I sit there for 10 mins telling him what he needs to hear from me and he still comes out with I am not going to accept you he list why and i tell him i just told you those things have changed and i am ok with what your asking of me, but when you have made up your mind before hand guess it did not matter. He was rude uncaring unfeeling and not someone I will be seeing just going to do whats heeded to get off the opiates and get out of there. These type doctors dont do any doctor work they give you some pills and see what they can do to hit your insurance up for worthless shots and anything else they can bill for and thats it. When they have done all of the things that will get them payed they dont spend more than 5 mins with you before showing you the door and moving on to the next payday by the time you go see these so called pain mgt people all the real doctor type work has been done for them and you go in and tell… them i have had this that and whatever done to me by real doctors so its up to you to give me some pills and get me out the door and he is just one in a long line of doctors i have seen over the years since this growth industry took off. After almost 20 years of these people having sway over my life I have gotten myself to the point i never want to meet a person like this guy ever again if i can help it since they dont care and are not willing to do what it takes to help me anymore I only wish on these people the same as i have gotten from there buncH of QUACKS .

Kind, knowledgeable, very helpful.

Waited for days for office to call with an appointment, finally had to call them for an appointment time. Doesn't share information with other doctors. Went to see surgeon 1 week after injection, doctor still hadn't received Dr Workman notes so office called Workman office & still had to wait almost 3hrs for them to fax the paper work over.

He is a very thorough doctor. He listens and explains in detail anything you might need to ask.

Dr. Ryan Workman is a very caring and great doctor. He listens, has a great bedside manner and is very thorough with his evaluation of your problems. The staff is very courteous and the wait was very short. He is all about actually helping relieve your pain long term not just prescribing. Great doctor.
