Dr. Saadiq Farid El-Amin, MD

This man used to work in Springfield, IL and talked me into surgery on my ACL in 2014 even though my pain is involved with cartilage defects under my kneecap and I never injured my ACL. Not only did I have an unnecessary surgery, it was done incorrectly and I was unable to bend my leg for months.. I had to have another surgery to have it reconstructed. I have had THREE surgeries since then and am still dealing with severe pain on a daily basis. I’m currently preparing for my 7th surgery at 34 years old. He also acts cocky and condescending to top everything off. DO NOT let this man touch you or anyone you care about with a ten foot pole!

I am very disappointed in my service with Dr. El-Amin. I presented with a torn meniscus in my right knee in the spring of 2018. Dr. El-Amin presented a treatment plan which included a surgical repair of the meniscus to be followed by stem cell injections in the joint. The surgery was completed successfully. Six weeks after surgery, I was cleared to resume normal activity with the understanding that we would proceed with the stem cells, as one of his specialties is regenerative medicine. At that point, Dr. El-Amin went silent. I was unable to reach him by phone or text. In the intervening time, my knee has continued to deteriorate and I am now facing additional treatment and possibly surgery, all of which could have been avoided had Dr. El-Amin followed up as he initially said. I attempted to contact him recently to get my records sent to my new surgeon and he did not respond. Dr. El-Amin clearly abandoned me in the middle of the course of my treatment, has provided no assistance in my… follow-up, and I would be cautious about utilizing his services.

Had both my Shoulder and Knee repaired by Dr. El-Amin with an excellent outcome. Dr. El-Amin is highly skilled and cares about his patients. Thanks to Dr. El-Amin I am back working out at the gym with no restrictions.

Dr. El-Amin talked me into surgery for my acl, although I was having no pain and knee was fully functional, I could run a sub 7 minute mile and squat 315 at 44 years old. now I can’t run down the street without pain and swelling.

Can’t say enough about Dr. El Amin and the outstanding results I’ve received from the two surgery’s I’ve undergone over the last year. I could barely hang up a shirt in my closet due to pain from a rotator cuff tear in my shoulder and was walking with a limb due to a meniscus cartilage tear in my left knee. After surgeries that went extremely well I’m actually back playing tennis again at age 60. Dr. El Amin is awesome and uses the latest advancements/options to insure a great outcome.

During my appointment, Dr. El Amin was "busy" with his "professional athlete" and did not have time to spend with me or to listen to my symptoms. He misdiagnosed my problem and gave me an injection I did not need. As it turns out, my issue was vascular, not orthopedic. I believe, if he had taken time with me, he would have realized that his quick diagnosis did not match the pain I described. I came away feeling, if I had been a professional athlete, I might have gotten the attention I deserved.

He is a Top notch surgeon couldn't of asked for a better Doctor I would recommend him to anyone and would return for surgery .

Cannot rate him for followup yet but I would reccoment him to anyone!
