Dr. Sailaja Bommakanti, MD

I've seen her 3 times as my new primary care. Each time, she cut me off when I tried to speak and made assumptions about what she thought I was going to say--wrong each time. She literally put her hand in my face to stop me from talking. When I asked about having a mammogram, she refused to schedule it, laughed and said, "at your age, it could do more harm than good." This upset me because I've had several breast cancer scares and my sister (deceased) had breast cancer, but she refused to let me say anything else, cutting me off each time I tried to speak. She had my records in her files, but didn't bother to check them. She ended the appointment exactly at 15 minutes and told me to come back in two weeks. At my next visit, I told her assistant that I was unhappy with what the doctor said about having a mammogram and she passed this on to the doc. This time she gave me a referral. I had the mammogram in April and received a notice from Good Sam Breast Care Center that I needed followup… tests because of the density of my breast tissue. They forwarded this to my doc. I never heard from her. When I finally called the office, she sent me a message that I didn't need any followup. Period. No discussion. After seeing many good reviews for this incredibly rude and dismissive doctor, I can only conclude that she's prejudiced against her older patients. After all, we're going to die soon anyway, so why waste time and money treating us?

I've seen comments before about how honest she is. I think it's a breath of fresh air. You want a doctor who is honest with you! Who is not afraid to tell you the truth! This is not the dressing room attendant at Nordstrom. This is your doctor your life depends on honesty not sugar coating!

Very professional and thorough as well as warm and friendly. Totally focuses on the patient. I would highly recommend her.

I had a new patient appointment after my previous PCP left the medical group. She was focused on getting certain information for my electronic medical file and hardly listened to what I tried to add to the conversation. When the data input finished she wanted to end our appointment and leave the rest for my annual physical in June. When I asked to use the remaining fifteen minutes of my appointment to discuss my blood pressure and my left side pain, she reluctantly ceded. After talking about my BP, she refuted my input about social anxiety increasing my blood pressure at medical appointments, made assumptions that a comparison of my home BP cuff reading and the office BP cuff would show the home reading were off or I was taking them incorrectly. The side pain necessitated a quick vaginal exam, during which she made two very inappropriate remarks about my weight, "fatty" "chubby girl". I shocked and did not comment because I might not be able to control my anger. I was due to see her… for annual physical in June, but I lost all respect during this meeting and will not see her again..
