If you are scheduled to see Dr. Naviwala for pediatric ear tubes, GO ELSEWHERE. The care we received for our daughter was ABYSMAL - after ~1 month her right ear tube has already fallen out and we now have to re-do the procedure. I am going to a different practice, I'd rather DIY the tubes than have him do it again. He gaslit us the whole time, hurried us off the phone when we called with concerns, and asked if we wanted to 'vent to the office manager' when we expressed our frustration. Do I want to vent? No, I'd like a competent doctor who can perform a surgery which, in his words, is as 'simple as an architect hammering a nail'. If it's so simple, why have we had issues from day 1 of having the tubes?! I am hopeful that my experience can lead others to finding better care for their kids. Avoid, avoid, avoid. He gets 1 start because we were able to get in with him quickly, wonder why that is...?

Hubby went for a simple ear cleaning - we told the office before hand we were in between insurances and needed to know the charge. She advised us a flat rate of $150. would be needed. Hubby went to the appointment and after paid the $150. Well, nearly TWO weeks later we receive a bill in the total amount of $523.04!!! This was not a life threatening visit!! You DO NOT walk into a tire shop for four tires and suddenly they add on a new muffler; new battery; new shocks!! No!! They TELL YOU IN ADVANCE what is needed and disclose the price for each; thereby GIVING YOU the right to consider it or not!! They have no right making that EXPENSIVE decision for my husband!! We are living on a fixed in one and that money is ear marked for our financial needs. Now we have to alter what we can pay to pay off this thief!! We are physically sick!!! And immediately we called to cancel a follow up robbery scheduled for next month!! I have personally given ten times this amount… in charity for decades - believing it's better to give and have good karma returned. But when we come across this kind of horrific conduct, it's very sad. Karma knows your address and I can't wait till she finds this doctor. Please do not use him as a mere call for an appointment could send you into bankruptcy!! Shame shame shame on him!! I advise he begin to actually acknowledge that his patients ARE NOT an ATM machine and DISCLOSE exactly any EXTRA procedures you plan on tacking on without your patient being the wiser!! I don't know how you sleep at night - may all you do to others come back to you tenfold!! Disgusted and sick!! ??

Sorry to see Dr. Navawala go. He is a great ENT doctor and I liked the fact he was in La Plata and I did not have to go to Waldorf.
