Dr. Butrus has been my Ophthalmology for several years, he performed cataract surgery on both my of eyes and the surgery went well and the recovery time after each eye surgery was quick and painless as was explained to me. I have worn eye glasses from childhood to my adult life and once I decided to have the cataract removed, I'm only wearing glasses for reading with 20/30 vision. Dr. Butrus has a wonderful staff who is always courteous, friendly and pleasant, any time I call the office I can always get an appointment that fits my work schedule. Dr. Butrus I would like to express my gratefulness and appreciation to you and your staff for the continue care of my eyes and the awesome work you do daily in giving people with eye issues and wonderful outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Butrus to anyone looking to better their eye vision.

I had a yearly eye exam covered by my insurance so I went to see for the first time Dr. Butrus. He insisted in giving me more exams, but i didn't want to pay hundreds dollars extra, I had to repeat myself several times to telling that i didn't want extra tests just the yearly exam to get my new glasses prescription. After that he told me not to worry, we do some eye exams and finish with the dilated fundus exam. Dilating the eyes is a central part of this last exam. It involves the administration of two or three drops directly into the eye. You pupil get so dilated that any light beam is painful, and the effect last for couple hours. I have NOT been notified before the appointment about this test and i had not brought or anybody gave me any sunglasses! I had to leave the examination with a big headache due to the over dilation of my eyes and i couldn't even open my eyes correctly because i had no filter to help with the light beams. But Dr. Butrus told me it was normal, i should not… worry again. On my way home I almost get hit by a bus (and get yelled at by the bus driver) because i couldn't open my eyes correctly to see the green light. After 2 hours in a darkroom, the headache and the pain in my eyes went away. But it's not over!.. I got a glasses prescription from Dr. Butrus, and i went to buy new glasses... Wonder what happened?? Yes, the prescription was wrong, and no possibility to get reimbursed, so i have glasses that i can't wear because they are way too strong for my eyesight! And... the last one! After few weeks, surprise!!!! you owe money to Dr. Butrus for extra exams not included in the yearly eye exam.. Voila. Don't go see him, like never.

He cares about the needs of his patients. I have always received the best treatment and in a timely manner. He listens to any concerns I might have. His staff is professional and kind.

Dr. B is a great doctor; I hope he never leaves the Capital Hill SE office - he's fantastic to myself and my husband! If you need an eye doctor, he 's the one to go to on Capital Hill!! Evelyn

I’m sad to say my experience wasn’t very good. In general staff was ok except for front desk personnel who was impatient and not very friendly. Dr. Butrus was in a hurry to inspect my eyes and rushed me through a very uncomfortable intense eye test. I felt worse after this visit. I’m not coming back.

I hope Dr. B does not leave the Capital Hill, DC area. I don't know what I would do if he left; he and his entire staff are wonderful. If you need an eye doctor, make an appointment to see him; you will not regret it. Excellent Doctor and wonderful person. He is my and my husband's eye 'doc' for life!!

Dr. B is a wonderful caring doctor. he has such wonderful bedside manners and is so considerate. He explains everything to you in a manner where you can understand. I am so glad I found him. Thank you Doc for everything.
