Dr. Sally Arai, MD

Dr. Arai is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I have seen her continue to be kind and responsive even with a patient who became very difficult to help. She is steady in situations where other docs lose patience. She doesn't have the narcissistic charisma of some of her peers, but she turned out to be a much better ally for the long haul than the ones who make a flashy first impression.

Stanford considers "on time" to be when they place you in a room. The exam rooms are uncomfortable and I've waited there for up to an hour to the doctor to come in. Dr. Arai had not read anything prior to first visit, had not gotten results of critical tests to be able to be informed of status of illness and thus had to theorize about what might be going on. Very underwhelmed. That said, it's really a production line process that turns out replicable results such that the inconvenience is just that but doesn't really affect the outcome. I'm sure she knows what she needs to know and she is pleasant.
