Dr. Salvador Javier Cardenas, MD

Dr. Salvador Javier Cardenas has been my doctor for many years. I consider him to be one of the best doctors here in the valley. He is very knowledgeable and truthful. I feel very comfortable talking to him about my health. He’s one of those doctors that takes his time and listens. He deliver my two babies. I still remember him before going into delivery. He would kneel down in a corner and pray. I would never forget that about him. I was sad to see him leave the RGV ?? ?? Best doctor ever!! I wish him the best???????????? Yvonne Sanchez

I wouldn't be alive without the help of Dr. Cardenas! He diagnosis a very large tumor and he referred me to Mayo Clinic in MN to have it removed. He help me pick the ob/gyn surgeon and provided the after care I needed once I returned to McAllen. When I moved to the DFW area, he was able to refer me to UTSW and I see a specialist that was one of his professors during medical school. Even though I have a great Dr. in Dallas, I do miss having him and his staff as my Ob/Gyn! He has such a wonderful bedside manner!

Dr. Cardenas is attentive, patient, and kind. His appointments are not piled up one on the other, so he has the time to spend with each patient rather than just trying to shoo one in, so the other can be next. He's wonderful. Have recommended several friends to him, and they love him, too!

As a new patient with Dr Cardenas I called his office to set up an appointment and was surprised to get in that very same week. Most places I had been calling wouldn't get me in until at least a month. One Dr even told me that I couldnt be seen until I was certain number of weeks pregnant. As soon as I got there I was greeted with the receptionist and was tended to right away. I filled out my documents and a few minutes later his very friendly nurse was already calling me in. It only got better from there. After going over my history with the nurse I was put into the room to wait for the Dr. And a few minutes later he was already in there. He was AWESEOME. Very nice and friendly. EXCELLENT bedside manners. He actually sat down and answered all my questions. I actually felt cared for. I will DEFINATELY say that I will recommend him to every person i know.

The experience with my first 2 pregnancies were great I loved my doctor. She made me feel at ease with all my concerns. Beleive me there were alot concerns from annemia, depression, c-section ( 9.8 lbs baby here) being my first child we were worried. So when I got pregnant again 4 years later this huge worry set in when I found out my doctor had stopped practice. Where were we going to find a doctor that would give me the 1 on 1 Dr.Le Blanc had given me, one that wouldnt have me seing a different person everytime an appt. would come by, one that would remember your situation everytime he consulted you. Doctors like this are rare. A doctor that treats his patients like family not like easy money. A cousin refered me to Dr. Cardenas she said her experience there was great. I had concerns with him being my first male doctor ( yes old fashion here ). As soon as walking in his wife was a the front desk greeting Pts.and signing them in, the office was not over booked, very peacefull… atmosphere, within minutes the nurse called me in, like 2 minutes later Dr. Cardenas walked in the room. We had our presentations and I new within seconds of him speaking that he would be the perfect doctors for me. His Staff is absoultly the best with one exception... His mother tends to work the front desk at times thought she is a sweet lady she can tend to say things out of place for example one time i was wating to be called in and a pt walked in. I'm assuming she had a balance on her account and she questioned the patient infront of the lobby pressing that she couldnt see the Dr cause she owed money. The odd thing was that this pt was due to deliver any day. The Nurse at the time explained to the patient that she was not going to be refused service and the dr was without a doubt going to see her. Personally I have also heard her on the phone with the exact situation. Yes, I know all dr need to be paid for their services but there is a way to address the situation. Isn't it called privacy?other than his mom all staff and family is AWESOME!!! dont get me wrong his mom is sweet! but must practice privacy.I Love Dr. Cardenas. He was my guardian angle when i needed him. He rescued me. corney but true!
