Dr. Sam Pakraftar, MD

He was in a fellowship at St. Vincents Hospital in Erie, Pa. He was assisting my doctor with a routine hysterectomy. He cut my colon resulting in a severe case of sepsis after two weeks, It's a shame these doctors don't consider the damage and trauma they are doing to a person's life, maybe they would be more careful.

This physician refused to discuss the risks and side effects of the proposed plan of treatment. I needed a routine colonoscopy and this surgeons thought it was too much to review treatment options. I went to another center that took informed consent more seriously.

Dr. Pakrafter is now with General Maine Medical Center, in Augusta, ME. My daughter, who is severely handicap, was diagnosed with colon cancer. Our first meeting with Dr. Pakrafter was great! He would talk to my daughter, even though her dad and I had to answer the questions he made sure to look at her. He said she was the most important person in the room. He was very polite. Never sugar coated anything. He took his time with her and with us. He made sure all of our questions were answered. Never made us feel like we had to get out of the room. He did the surgery and even though he worked very late in the evening. He made sure to check on her. He is very professional and compassionate. I would totally recommend him.
