Dr. Samantha Beth Feder, MD

The only reason I am writing this review so that others don't fall into the same situation we did. She is the worst doctor we ever met! Let me start by saying we didn't pick her, she was in the group with our doctor and was on duty when my wife went into labor. If it happens to you, please demand a different doctor right away. From the moment she walked in it was clear she didn't want to be there. She doesn't care about you or your concerns, very dismissive, downright mean and openly sarcastic. We are convinced if it wasn't for her we would have had a completely different experience and my wife wouldn't have lost so much blood to the point where we had to do blood transfusion. She was barely there when my wife was pushing and when the baby's head did finally come out, she told my wife to stop and went on to put on her gown while putting our baby at risk and leaving my wife to hemorrhage for over a minute. Her oath means nothing to her! Wish we never met her!

I have had major billing issues with Dr. Feder's office that I haven't experienced with any other Weill Cornell provider. Make sure you're very clear on what procedures she's ordering before she places the order.

Stay away! Waited over an hour to be seen. Dr. Feder seemed very rushed and had an attitude problem. She talked in a very condescending manner. Everything about this appointment was horrible. She actually tried to humiliate me when I asked questions.

I'm an existing patient of Dr. Feder. She is amazing. However, I recently changed insurance plans and am being asked for the doctor's ID# to enroll in my new insurance plan. I called Dr. Feder's office for the NPI# -- not only was I on hold for half an hour, but I'm told they cannot give that out. I am placed on hold again and then told "we're not allowed to give that out -- you have to google it". When I asked the young lady her name, she hung up on me. What world are we living in that an office personnel feels it is okay to hang up on a patient simply because they asked for her name. I was not in any way rude or disrespectful. I am simply trying to enroll in my new plan so that I can make an appointment. Truth be told, I think it's time to find a new doctor. I refuse to deal with rudeness.

I saw this doctor 2 years ago for annual pap smear. Told her my husband and I were going to start trying for kids in 6 months and she offered to do tests. She said she would call back if anything looked abnormal. She never called. A year of trying got tested again/had old test results reviewed and new doc pointed out Dr. Feder missed a very obvious diagnosis. Assuming due to laziness as opposed to her inexperience with infertility as she ordered these tests. Her manner was too cold and abrasive for me.

I have never written a review before, but I feel an imperative to warn other mothers-to-be about Dr. Feder. I.e. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. After delivering the worst possible news a woman could receive regarding her pregnancy, I was heartbroken and deeply uncertain. But rather than finding comfort and guidance in my doctor, she ignored my messages about contradictory simptoms as time progressed and did not set a plan for the required procedures. She said or did nothing to appease me medically. I eventually had to seek out another doctor. I’m glad I did. As it turned out, Dr. Feder had MISDIAGNOSED me. I will never go back to Dr. Feder and urge others to consider finding another OBGYN as well. For such serious diagnosis she should of been more compassionate and diligent with a patient. Absolut unnacceptable mistake for a Doctor. Also relevant for busy moms, waits exceed 1hr.

No matter how competent a doctor is, treating people as people, not as a diagnosis, is also important. Doctor Feder lacks that ability. Her approach is blunt to the point of rudeness. If you can't learn the skills of basic human interaction, find an occupation that doesn't involve relating to other humans.

She is a good doctor, this is a warning that she is not at the 60th street address anymore so if you are on medicare they will not pay your bill, since she has not updated her address with Social Security.

Dr. Feder is the real deal !! She is humble, sensitive, classy and sympathetic.She informs you ( GOOD OR BAD) , but is optimistic while doing so and offers solutions , never leaving you feeling confused. She takes time to explain result , she triple checks all bloodwork, is very compassionate and educated on all levels. She follows up immediately, return calls promptly and is as accessible as any good doctor should be. I feel so comfortable in her care.I am having my first baby, and it is a wonderful experience because of her!! I am an actress who works in a very demanding career and I deal with many different characters in my industry on a daily basis.I know rude people! She is an angel. I read people well and only trust a few. She is definitely one of those "old souls " who "gets it". She is truly in love with her work , but her human touch is what separates her from the rest. Anyone who has NOT had a great experience with her is probably because they are difficult people… themselves and are impossible patients overall. Dr.Feder is someone I recommend without a doubt and trust implicitly.

Doctor Feder has delivered our two children and is preparing to deliver our third in January. She was tremendously supportive when it took a year and a half to conceive our first child. She very much made efforts to prevent a C section when labor would not progress, and allowed me as much time as was safe for my body to try to deliver the baby vaginally. When we went through a miscarriage, the level of care and support she provided was stellar. I am shocked by some of the experiences people report here. I appreciate her straightforwardness and have seen such a caring and nurturing side of her, when the time for it is needed. When I was not expecting and going to see her for an annual appointment, there was always a wait - and sometimes a long one. However, when expecting, the wait seems much less substantial and I think efforts are made to get future moms in and out quickly. The staff in her office are very sweet and friendly and have been helpful anytime I needed to call with… questions or appointment needs. Dr. Feder is knowledgeable, practical, and thoughtful. We are so appreciative of being in her care through four pregnancies and soon to be three kids.
