I saw Dr. Arora in urgent care. I came in 15 weeks pregnant with a bad cold that had lasted for 5 days with no improvement. He listened to my lungs, but he didn't check my ears or my throat. So already I could tell he's not going to be very thorough. I asked him if there was a way to check whether the cold was bacterial or viral. If it was bacterial, I was ready to take pregnancy-safe antibiotics. He basically laughed at me for suggesting it could be bacterial, said "how are you gonna test for that, huh?" and then told me he had seen 5 patients in the last few hours who have the same thing as me, and it's viral. First of all, you're the doctor - don't ask me how I would test for something. Second of all, I suggested a sputum sample (where they test the phlegm you cough up). He said it's super inaccurate and wouldn't do it. He then proceeded to spend the rest of the conversation ignoring me and talking to my husband. I don't know if he's sexist, or if he just didn't like my questioning… nature, but it was horrible bedside manner and made me feel like my health is not important to him. I also brought up that I've been feeling lower abdomen pain from my coughing fits and I'm concerned about the baby. He didn't even bother to order an ultrasound to make sure the baby is doing ok. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone, and if you do get him in urgent care, request someone else.
