Dr. Samir Naser Shahen, MD

Excellent doctor- took the time to explain things to me. Very compassionate and dedicated to his patients. He really cares about your health

I tried to get a prescription refilled and Dr. Shahen was the attending doctor for my PCP. He initially tried to refuse to fill the medication because an appointment was cancelled a month ago. When I told him that it was cancelled by his office, he then said I must come in today or tomorrow. He kept saying that it would soon be 3 months since I saw my doctor (but not yet 3 months). When I told him I always see my doctor every 3-6 months, he finally called in the prescription. He kept talking down to me. He was rude. And he told me “I’m in charge” and “I don’t even know why I’m negotiating with you.” Do NOT go to this doctor.

I had visited Dr. Shahen at Norwegian American hospital and had a great experience, did a great job listening to my concerns and addressed them all appropriately. He is very knowledgeable about my dads diagnosis and helped me and my family understand. I was grateful to have a physician like him take care of my father.
