Dr. Samira Karakossian, MD

I had my yearly check up today with Doctor Samira, she is a very professional and caring physician. She explained the results from some lab work I had done. There were a few areas of minor concern, she explained them and scheduled some follow up labs to double check them. She is very competent and compassionate. I feel really confident being treated by her. In addition her staff is super, very friendly. Mary Lou Pereksta

Dr. Samira made some poor decisions and then said she would note them in my chart, however, THEY WERE IN MY CHART!

I have been a patient off and on for about 5 years. I started out disliking this physician because she had some hang-ups about some of the medications I was requesting (for sleep) and would make no decisions without getting lab work. I left the practice and went to someone else. Two years later, my physician left her practice and I returned because I needed the medications for my chronic condition. In the past two years, Dr. K has become more comfortable in her practice and has become an adequate general practitioner. In some ways she "checks boxes" during the visit but she will discuss potential care options, listens to your concerns, and is a little less nervous about providing care (although she still leans on the side of caution, that is not always a bad thing). That said, the office staff is really great, you don't have to wait for a long time in the waiting room, and you don't have to wait more than a couple of weeks for an appointment.

Overall I would describe Dr. Samira Karakossian as UTTERLY USELESS AND INCOMPETENT. I came in for a general health physical for nursing school and she flat out refused to provide any opinion. She literally said, "I don't know anything about you," despite conducting a physical and having knowledge of my previous year's physical with full blood work, yet she was still able to justify her $300 cost for visit which consisted of listening to my breathing and checking my ears. She then said she would sign the form, which indicated a yes or no field for restriction/ limitations, with a disclaimer that blood work had not been done. However, she checked yes despite having no evidence of any restrictions/ limitations forcing me to have to get a full blood work panel on a tight time frame as I had to wait a month just to get an appointment with her. I went ahead and did this and she STILL REFUSED to provide an opinion and just left this field blank after receiving normal results on all my lab… work and having no basis for not endorsing no for restrictions/ limitations. Now I have to pay out of pocket to find someone else because I can't even use what she gave me. She was extremely condescending, arrogant, and had no regard for the position that she had put me in. When I brought up a concern about pain in my abdomen on my last physical, she was quick to blow it off, but when I need her to validate that there are no concerns she is unwilling to do so despite having thorough test results that indicate precisely that. She is the epitome of someone who just shows up for a paycheck and would not even have a job without her credentials because she certainly does not provide anything of value for her patients.

I was discharged from her practice by certified letter! No discussion! Her reason was because I’ve been inactive for the last 11 months. Too healthy for her? Not enough money coming into her practice. How’s that for bedside manner?!

Worst doctor I ever had...can't trust her....
