Saw Dr Atkins over a three month period for a severe TBI. Things went superb at first, but then went south fast. Since Dr Atkins could not account for my symptoms he sent me to a psychiatrist who determined I was depressed and that fact accounted for my symptoms. Upon delivering my results, as I insisted over and over that I live in my body and I am NOT depressed Dr Atkins stated that the mere fact that I was declaring my lack of depression was an indicator that I was indeed depressed. I walked out and never looked back. I was finally diagnosed with migraine headaches brought on by the TBI that accounted for all of my symptoms (by a doctor who did not claim to be a sports medicine specialist) and a simple rx fixed all of the symptoms. I am sure Dr Atkins is a wonderful provider, but he should not be consulted for head injuries.

The best physician I have ever seen.

Dr. Adkins is the poster child for bedside manner. He took the time to listen and understand why I was there. He was sensitive and empathetic. As a result he not only attended to my physical needs, but he also was able to understand how and why my emotional health was impacting the physical. He didn't just dismiss my emotional status, give me a prescription and send me on my way but he provided counsel as well. Very soft spoken, and sincere, he helped me to feel safe and better about my situation. It was clear to me that he was genuinely concerned about my overall health and well-being. I would highly recommend him to any person seeking medical care.

I have never met a GP who took more time and expressed more interest in my overall health. Highly recommended!
