His treatment plan was very concerning since he was going against the NCCN guidelines. If I had stayed in his care I possibly would have had my cancer go metastatic, as he was denying me the medication I needed to prevent that from happening. I would find a different clinic.

He states his knowledge and limitations in the disease clearly and opens to opinions of experts. He cares about patients in a whole including family situation. He trains his dog to become therapy dog and brought him to clinic helping to ease patient and family's anxiety.

This doctor was literally letting my mother die. I took her to another doc and she went from living on her chair - dragging herself to the bathroom, not eating, loosing 60+ pounds, to living a "life" again and gaining wait. If you have a rare disease - do yourself a favor and find an expert in that disease.

Doctor Shelanski is very professional and caring. He seemed to understand the emotional difficulty of a cancer diagnosis and we have complete confidence in him. He is much better than the first doctor we saw and we would recommend him highly to anyone who needs cancer care in northern Colorado.
