I had FAI but it was mostly asymptomatic but was starting to give me some problems. My hip joint was in good shape. I wanted Dr Carter to just remove the cam fai part and stay out of the hip but he said he needed to get into the joint. I asked him if there was a chance this could make my hip worse and he said no that the surgery should not make my hip worse. On the day of the surgery I told Dr Carter that my hip had been feeling well. After the surgery he told my girlfriend that I would need a hip replacement. Dr Carter did not see me after the surgery and I was not able to see him until about 3 months after the surgery. There was a problem with my appointment after the surgery. When I went to the office there was no one there who could take my stitches out so I removed the stitches myself. Dr Carter never told me that there was a chance the surgery could make my hip worse. He did say that results were not as good at my age but that's it. Also Dr Carter did not require me to… get an arthogram of my hip. I only got a regular MRI. I have had about 4 surgeries on my other hip and all the surgeons saw me after surgery and then about 3 days later. And all previous surgeries required a hip arthogram. Also the other surgeries were all good results for my hip. I have more pain and disability with my hip now than before the surgery. This was my first surgery on this other hip. I made a very bad decision to get surgery from Dr Carter and wish I had not. Now I will need a hip replacement because of this surgery. I had no idea this was possible and am quite unhappy about it. I do not recommend Dr Carter.

I have had two surgical procedures with Dr. Carter: a partial knee replacement on one knee, and meniscus tear repair (arthroscopic) on the other knee. Both of these had very positive outcomes. He was thorough in his explanations and options for both procedures and all follow up consultations. Excellent provider.

I can't say enough about Dr. Carter or his PA. I had my first hip surgery in Ga and through no fault of the first surgeon, I needed a 2nd replacement. I felt I would have difficulty finding someone to take me on. But, no. Dr. Carter, his staff and his PA took me on and were wonderful. I had a couple of set backs, because that's the way I roll, but through it all, I knew he was there. I know there are other wonderful surgeons, but none of them are as wonderful as Dr. Carter. From his professional approach, to his great bedside manner, to his down to earth personality, I can't say enough good things about him and his office.

Always responsive, open to questions, Dr. Carter was unfailingly courteous. He clearly held me responsible for building up my own strength and maintaining my health. He is a great partner, coach, and surgeon. After two major surgeries, I feel and look better than I have in years.

I had a hip arthoscopy and repair of fai and a labrum tear. Dr. Carter informed me of every step of the procedure and was very understanding with the many questions I had. He was fast and has a great bedside manner. My surgery was smooth and he was very attentive when I came out of recovery. He is really outstanding.

I have a problem with doctors who never return your calls (not even their assistant will return calls). Was treated by this doctor, told to call him in a couple of days if treatment didn't work. Tried calling six times with no response. In the meantime I'm in terrible pain and can't get the doctor nor his assistant to call me back. Nobody is that busy that you can't assistant your patient. Looking for someone else to treat me. Think I made a bad choice with this one.

After an ACL & maniscal repair (not Dr. Carter's), I tore the graft less than 6 months later. That was very disheartening. Dr. Carter was great with me after my reinjury. He performed my revision and I couldn't be happier. This recovery is so much better than the first, it is hard to believe it was the same type of procedure. I would happily recommend Dr. Carter to anyone.

Dr. Carter was most kind and considerate. He worked my surgery into his schedule after a full day of surgery/patient care. He took the time to fully explain procedures/outcomes, etc. His office staff was friendly and helpful. Except for parking, his office was easy to locate and enter. Thanks to his care, I am able to walk about with relative ease and get better every day!! The use of my elbow improves slowly but surely. If there was a way to "grade" Dr. Carter above 4 stars, he would get a top rating from me. I was totally overcome by the promptness and friendly tone of the thank you note which he sent. I had never received one from any of my doctors before.

Dr. Carter is very professional in his manner, without being dull or clinical. He gave options and discussed the pros and cons of my situation. My surgery was easy and uneventful. Follow-ups where a breeze and all my questions where answered to my satisfaction. In addition, the entire staff seemed knowledgeable , friendly and worked well together . I have recommended Dr. Carter to numerous people.
