Dr. Samuel D Chen, MD

Dr. CHEN has been my Mom’s family doctor for over 20 years! Did not get a chance to read any reviews til today because I went on his website to check the office hours . I was absolutely shocked to see some of the patient’s review for Dr. CHEN! It is totally unjust and I am deeply puzzled! Dr. CHEN is the best family doctor in Houston! He would follow up with my Mom’s test or blood works every time by calling my family His diagnostic skill is very accurate as well! There were two times my Mom pulled abdominal muscle and complained of lower right abdominal pain and we thought it may be appendix but right way he told us he thought it was due to “pulled abdominal muscle” ! He still referred us to take her to E.R just to be sure and he was right on the dot! He is very caring and patient with the elderly which is a rare quality! The only thing they can improve is to remodel the inside of the clinic little bit but I highly recommend Dr. CHEN to be anyone’s family doctor! I would of used… him for my family if I lived closer!

EVERY TIME, it just takes forever and ever being checked by him. You will have to wait outside first, waiting the hallway, wait in the room and finally he shows up. EVERY TIME it will take you two to three hours for his 5 minutes checkup. Worth it? You tell me!!

Worst clinic I have ever seen. I went to clinic on time, but had to wait for more than 1 hour. And when I asked staff why, she said "you can wait or reschedule", very impatient and arrogant. No follow-up after this visit until I have to call them for diagnosis after 17 days (yes, 17!). Their answer is "doctor MAY call you back after 5pm". No answer till now. NEVER GO TO THIS CLINIC!

I have heard good things about Dr. Chen as a doctor so I scheduled an appointment with him. The thing that irritated me the most was that I had to wait almost an hour and thirty minutes just to see him. I arrived at my appointment 10 minutes ahead of time and had the earliest time for an appointment. There were no other patients in front of me. However, Dr. Chen did not even arrive at the clinic until almost 1- 1.5 hours after my original appointment time. He also seemed rushed to get through our appointment because by that time he was very behind schedule. Additionally, I thought it was strange that he wore a mask at the beginning of our appointment because I did not have a contagious illness. The front desk staff also came off as very rude when I talked to them and did not bother to tell me that Dr. Chen was not even there yet when I had to sit and wait in the patient room for over an hour.

spent an hour waiting. Arrived at the clinic 15 minutes before the appointment, got to see the dr more than 45 minutes after the appt time. (you do the math) the service was terrible. Both the dr and the nurse were in a rush. The dr did not even have patience of listening to you, and he seemed worried about that you did not pay. Will never ever go back.

I wonder how people like this are licensed in the U.S.! He treats people like they are animals. So does his staff members. I was able to observe this myself since I was kept waiting for him over an hour. Do NOT make the same mistake I made. Do not EVER see this person!

The last time I saw Dr. Cheng was 2 years ago. He is an excelent Dr. who cares a lot about his pacients, with precise diagnosis and consistent follow ups.

Poor bedside manner. Does not wash hands between patients. Wears a mask when visiting with patients. Starts & stops. Starts talking, leaves you lying on table for up to 30 mins while he attends to other patients. Condescending, erratic and easily flustered.

HE IS AN EXCELENT PHISYCIAN. I TRUST 100% ON HIM.
