Dr. Samuel Neal Marcus, MD

Dr. Marcus was referred to me by another doctor in my town. I made a phone call and had a zoom appointment all in the same day. Within one day we had decided the best game plan and I have an appointment in one week. I will update my review after my procedure. I felt the need to post a review in my shock of great service. He's not only professional but he is also quick, personable and obviously knows his business well. Super secure feeling here and so happy.

I filled out the paper work and left them with the staff. I waited two weeks heard nothing so called they said they would check and get back to me, waited another week called again got the same response, after another week went by the office called and set up my appointment for 6 weeks later and said they would send me the instructions a week prior to my appointment. I am now 4 days from my appointment and have not received any instructions, don't know if i am supposed to stop taking any medications or blood thinner. If i don't hear by tomorrow i am cancelling and finding a new doctor.

It is really sad that such a great doctor has such a bad staff in his office with lots of arrogance and lack of skills.

I don't know about the experiences of the other reviewers, but I have had nothing but a positive experience. The staff is very helpful. The facility provided me with an estimated cost of my procedure in advance. Dr Marcus actually listens to his patients and goes above and beyond. I have even received calls from Dr Marcus at 9 oclock at night checking on me. I am so thankful to have found a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients.

Went to the office to preliminary visit and asked about my insurance coverage if my insurance coverage would cover the procedure I was having done (Colonoscopy). The staff said that would be my responsibility to call my insurance company to make sure this procedure was being covered. I called my insurance and spent time trying to figure out what they would cover and not cover. I than read Dr. Marcus reviews about one of his patients being sent a huge bill for the facility and than called his office to ask again for assistance to make sure my insurance would cover the facility. I was informed to call another office and started to feel like no one could answer my concerns regarding the fees that I would be charged. I went to my doctors office and they said they would take care of the preauthorization to make sure that they would communicate with Dr. Marcus's office to get this paperwork completed with my insurance company. I received a call months later from Dr. Marcus's office… asking if I still needed to schedule my procedure and I said that my Doctor's office never called me with the preauthorization from my insurance company. I was so overwhelmed with all the phone calls I needed to make and exhausted with worry about making sure this procedure would be covered by my insurance company. I now received a certified letter in the mail discharging me as a patient and never even had the procedure done due to all the lack of follow through with my Dr's office and Dr. Marcus's office. Why do patients have to go through so much in dealing with the insurance coverage and the office staff not willing to help relieve the stress of the patient worrying about getting a huge bill by just assisting them in concerns on what will be covered or not.
