Dr. Payne is a caring, extremely knowledgeable and obviously highly skilled surgeon. Dr. Payne was knowledgeable about my case from reviewing notes before ever entering the exam room to meet me for the first time. With his knowledge already, he listened patiently and carefully to me (the patient) and my husband (the principal caregiver for my wound. His physical exam of the wound was patient, careful, thorough and insightful, observing many important things about the wound and asking careful and important follow up questions. Dr. Payne asked careful and important questions about my somewhat unique medical history and insurance issues that brought me to him. He carefully reviewed options and implications for surgery and critical after care. He articulated in a thorough and still understandable way a surgical plan. I left his office with a scheduled surgical date. I had begun to fear that I would not find a local surgeon for my surgery. I now firmly believe that my rather challenging… path to get to Dr. Payne (not his fault, lots of dead ends with other surgeons) was all part of connecting with the absolute best surgeon for my needs. I could not be more pleased and hopeful being in Dr. Payne's care.

Got there really early and they still brought me back, didn’t make me wait for my appt time. Everyone was personable and friendly. Honest medical advice/opinion given, not just told something to get me to do a costly procedure.
