Dr. Samuel Jay Snyder, MD

I made an appointment to see " the doctor" for a second opinion on my heel pain and swollen. Hoboken office was full until 2 months later. But was told Fair Lawn office had a much closer date available. I took it and was looking forward to see him, hoping he could provide me with a better result. When I got to the office, I was told the doctor did not see new patient for the first time, the PA will. The only reason I was seeking another doctor was to see if I prefer the new doctor or not. Besides, it's not ethical not to inform me in advance that I would not see a real doctor in this office, although the PA was very nice. (but I overheard her telling someone about my condition and came back with diagnosis). I would never recommend this doctor to another one I know. What's the difference between going to his office and Googling the treatments on my own! The bottom line is, he only wants to branch out different location and make a lot of money. He cannot be in every… location himself. so, be aware.

Dr. Snyder is one of the few remaining compassionate, caring, interested Doctors around. He takes the time to truly understand your symptoms and always makes the time to answer your questions. We have been seeing him for 10+ years and have NEVER had anything but great experiences with him from office visits to surgeries. I cannot recommend him enough!!!!

Went to him for second opinion after being struck by a car. My hand at the time, still very clearly swollen. ROM is next to nothing. My hand it's hurting. So at first when he came in the room. He was very very nice. Did his exam. Didn't hurt me anymore than what I was. Then the true side of him shows. He tells me. I know your hand is swollen and I know you are in pain. But I believe you can no back to work as an EMS worker with all this. Without restrictions and you are at maximum medical improvement. So I say to him. You realize as an EMS worker I have to have full use of my hands and be fit for duty. I'm guess he didn't or doesn't care if I hurt someone or my parter. Or myself. So if you are a workers compensation case. Don't expect a good result. This guy is arrogant and just plain rude. He's a quack with a license. Go to someone else

Other than thee waiting room, Dr. Snyder is wonderful. He is thorough, and takes time to explain the problem and the options. I've dealt with him for my mother and myself. He has my complete confidence.

Dr. Snyder call me to inform me of my MRI results. We talk about my options, which involved surgery. Dr. Snyder has his patients best interest in mind. He outlined a plan for me that took all my concerns into consideration. Thank you Dr. S.

A great Doctor

You may have to wait a bit, but it is well worth it. Dr Snyder not only cares about you as a patient, but as a person as well. His bedside manner is beyond compare as he takes the time to talk to you and explain your situation in detail. He is thorough with his examination and accurate with his diagnosis. He is not just a good doctor but a good man as well. You may have to wait, but after your appointment you will realize your complaints were unfair because he took his time with you just as he had with all his other patients before you.

did not LIKE this Dr at all

I have been to garden state medical 3 times in Mahwah. Each visit I have waited an hour or more before seeing the doctor (writing this review at the one hour mark and still hear him talking to a patient that arrived after I did).Staff fails to update you on wait times as well.
