Sandra McCollough

An award-winning nurse practitioner and experienced nurse educator, Sandy McCollough, MN, APRN-C, brings an in-depth understanding of both pediatric and adult oncology and intensive care to her work with patients at AdventHealth. Her specialties include acute and chronic illness, elder care, health screenings and testing, immunizations and flu shots, minor injury care, pediatric care and preventive care.

Sandy earned her master's degree in nursing from the University of Florida College of Nursing and her bachelor's degree in business administration from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. A certified Orange County adult school teacher, Sandy has been a featured speaker at several nursing conventions. She's also an associate professor of nursing at the University of Central Florida's School of Nursing and provides clinical training for new nurse practitioners.

Active in both professional associations and her community, Sandy's work has been recognized by the Florida Nurses …Association Nurse's Excellence Award for nurse practitioners. She's a member of the Florida Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the Southeast and National Lipid Associations. She's also served as a medical staff volunteer at the Walt Disney World Marathon.

In addition to her considerable clinical experience, Sandy is certified in clinical research and is a seasoned clinical research project coordinator and clinical trial sub-investigator, participating in more than 20 clinical research projects and multiple clinical trials for cholesterol and hypertensive medications.

When she's not working with her AdventHealth patients, Sandy enjoys sewing, crafts, reading and traveling.
