Dr. Sandra Anne Takai, MD

My husband told me Dr.Takai is a wonderful doctor. I was my first time took my step-son to her office. She seemed has very good bedside manner, but she wasn't doing her job propperly as a doctor at all.(and that is what matters more than bedside manner for a doctor to me). The whole visit lasted for 5 minutes. My son had liver shut down 3 years ago, and he hasn't been doctoer's office for three years. I expected this check-up would be a detailed check-up. However, She did the basicest check-up in the entire world.It felt like we were in China, and the doctors rushing though because there are too many people waiting. I did not even get the chance to ask her any question, and she was already out of the room already. I had to quickly stand up from the chair and hold the door ask her if my son is getting the shots right after this visit. It is a shame that people in this country give doctors so much respect, but sometimes they just do not really deserve it.My son had liver shut down. Since… he has not had check-up for three years, at least she should have his blood tested to see if his liver functions well. I left her office with questions and felt very disturbing because she was polite at the begining then became cocky verbally when I told her that my son has very good behaviors except he can't focus when he is reading.I wasn't sure if it was my broken English, but she looked at me like I am disabled and said" you should find something interesting for him." There was a kind of attitude made me feel very very uncomfortable. All I can say is, she is not as nice as she seems! (I had worked in the hospital as an RN for 7 years, usually older doctors are handling things more metually, but she seemed has short temper. )

My children have been patients of Dr. Takai since they were newborns (now college-aged). Dr. Takai has been an excellent diagnostician, who has picked up on some very subtle symptoms which left untreated, would have resulted in very serious problems. I have always found her and her associates to be very professional and deeply caring and would (and have) recommend the practice to anyone.

Dr. Takai was very condescending and snappy. She talked down to me when i asked her to take a blood sample for my 8 month old baby, who recently had a surgery and had a low fever for a month subsequent to that. Here is what she said at the end of the conversation: "I do not care how adamant you are about asking for the blood test. I do not think your child had a fever, and i will not do the blood test." Her response does not seem reasonable, as we requested simple blood test, not an unnecessary surgery.

I was a patient of hers for 20 years and I have spent the last 5 years looking for someone who could compare. She treats whe whole patient and is good a making time. I recommend her 110% and wish I still had her as my doctor!!
