Dr. Sandra Valino Doyle, DO

Dr. Doyle would not admit that my mom's case was over her head. My mom was in the hospital with complications from a major surgery—a surgery that Dr. Doyle advised against. Doyle had a chip on her shoulder that my mom had the surgery and even said "I told her not to have that surgery" after we had concerns of the care Dr. Doyle was giving her. Dr. Doyle would go days without checking on my mom in the hospital and she would not respond to messages that were left. Under Dr. Doyle's instructions, nurses continued administering medicine that put my mom's health at risk and after 1 week on the main floor in the hospital, Dr. Doyle finally checked in and said to my mom "It's ok if you want to give up. You can go home to live out the rest of your life peacefully." SHE was giving up on my mom. At that point, I took matters into my own hands and got my mom transferred to Rush Hospital downtown, where she was admitted to the ICU for 2 weeks and they saved her life.

I was looking for a new doctor and watched Dr. Valino-Doyle's video about herself online. She seems to be very caring in the video. She assures you she'll help you find a plan of care. She implores you to not give up on yourself in this video, and to be forgiving of yourself...says to not give up on yourself... she says "I won't give up on you."...that her first priority is to make you feel better as soon as she can. She says "I won't give up on you." I made an apt with her and drove 40 minutes. I figured if she is this caring it is worth it. I have had chronic pain for 20 years and have had an eating disorder most of my life. I am doing well but appreciate someone who is compassionate. I was brought back by the nurse or assistant who said I needed to be weighed. I said "No thank you." She said I had to be weighed or the doctor won't see me. I thought that surely can't be true as I never get weighed at doctor offices as it triggers my anorexic tendencies. Once the… assistant finished taking my info she said she would go get the doctor. Minutes later the assistant came back in and said Dr. Valino-Doyle wouldn't see me because I wouldn't let her weigh me. I was shocked. I NEVER EVEN MET HER. SHE REFUSED TO SEE ME. She didn't come in and ask me why. She never came in. She had me leave. I am really shocked at how I was treated. Had she just come in and asked me why, I would happily tell her. If I need to be weighed for medication or surgery, I will let them. I just need to talk to them about it first. I am shocked at how disrespected I was by this doctor who claims to be so compassionate online and to treat the whole person. I was very upset and talked to the office manager. Dr. Valino-Doyle never came in. I wouldn't recommend anyone try to see her. She certainly didn't treat me with the respect she implies she has in her video online.

After seeing 10 different doctors over the last 50 years I can say sandra is the most empathetic and through doctor I have ever had. She makes me feel confident and good about her decisions made on my behalf.

How do you respond when a doctor tells you she is too tired to get mad at you? Not sure why she was mad. Must have to do with my weight because she told me to count calories because it really works for her. Also wanted me to continue with an antidepressant I felt I no longer needed. She said she knew me too well. I should stay on it for another six months. I was the one who initially told her I need to be on one.

I have been seeing Dr. Doyle for almost four years and have never considered seeing anyone else. Easy to talk to, concerned, and thurough. Never felt more carred about by a doctor.

Doctor was late for my appointment. She was rude and short and very assuming and when I asked her if she could look at something, she said no, she was running behind and didn't have time. I can't believe she was so rude and said no. I made an appointment to see her and paid for this visit and she could look at a medical condition because she was behind seeing patients? Well, that's her fault not mine. I will not see her again and this was the first time I ever saw her or had visited this office. Her nurse was nice but the front desk staff was short and wanted money that I owed to a previous physician from another doctors office, and I hadn't even been there for 5 minutes. A simple visit to the doctor'soffice turned in to a very unpleasant and upsetting experience.

Dr. Doyle spends time listening and really understanding what the problem is and makes sure that she asks the questions necessary to determine what needs to happen next. Her nurse is great and makes you feel at ease. They are a great team and I highly recommend Dr. Doyle.

The staff at Dr. Doyle's office is NOT puntual at all. Her nurse is extriemly rude especially when the fault is hers. It is very unpleasant to deal with the staff.
