Dr. Sangita Parekh Modi, MD

Dr. Modi has been caring for my kids since birth. Her kind and thoughtful nature make even our sick visits enjoyable and informative. My kids and I love her and her small office practice-we wouldn't go anywhere else!

I have taking my children to see Dr Modi for 11 years now. I wish this rating was more for the incompetent office staff. Dr Modi is great but her office staff are horrible, rude and incompetent. In the 11 years I have taking my children there I have had no problems with the doctors just the ladies in the office. For the past year and a half every time I go in there they never update my current insurance, in fact they didn't even update my new address. I was in that office at least every three months with one of my kids and they always ask have the wrong information in their system. Why am I filling out forms everytime with my current information on it if you are not going to update it? I switched my insurance type within the same company and when I asked if they covered it I was told yes we except it. Took my boys to there wellness check ups thinking everything was alright to only get a bill off almost 1k because apparently they don't except it. Now my most recent bill they have… added a false claim with my daughter who hasn't been in the office for over seven months to get her flu shot. They have added another 100 to the bill of 1k. If you ask me I think the entire office staff needs to be replaced. I have also had issues with the office staff switching appointment dates and times. I have gone in with the appointment card with the appointment written on it for them to look right at me and tell me the kids don't have appointments that day. Then why would I have a card written by you saying I do? Dr Modi and the rest of her colleagues are great but the office staff needs help. I have switched to a much better office staff because of this.

The doctors are very nice but this office is ridiculous to work with and office staff is rude and do not seem to be very competent. Just getting something printed was such a hassle. The equipment is antique. They kept getting different weight readings for my newborn on a scale I'm sure was out dated when I was a child even. They were fine with the readings being completely off but I wasn't. She had lost a lot of weight at hospital and I wanted to be able to track her weight gain accurately to make sure she was getting enough breast milk. I had to ask them to go get a different scale and they had to wait for the one good scale to not be in use. Dr. Modi only schedules appointments three days a week and only for a couple of hours a day. I always schedule my appointments when leaving my current appointment. I also always schedule for 3:50 because of my schedule. They made a mistake and changed it in the system for earlier in the day and I called a week before the appointment to check on… it, because this had happened to a previous appointment, and when I found out the time they changed me to I told them I would need to schedule a different day. The next appointment they could do for me was 2 months out. So instead of her 6 month appointment she wouldn't be seen until 8 months. Also there were times when I tried to reach the emergency line after hours and it would be forwarded to the same office line stating you will get a call back during business hours.. I ended up having to select the option stating I'm calling from a hospital to get through. At her 2 month appointment they refused to give her her shots or see her because they hadn't gotten a response from the insurance from the check up she had a few weeks before. I had an insurance card and everything. It turned out they were not submitting all the right information. They tried to reschedule me out two months for that appointment as well, but finally worked out something with Dr. Modi's schedule to fit her in a week later. The evening before the appointment they called to let me know that Dr. Modi would not actually be available at that time after all. So then once again I got reschedule, but they allowed me to see a different doctor since Dr. Modi couldn't find time for two months yet again. Worst office ever. I have a seven year old and have never experienced these issues with any doctor she has gone to.

I have two children who see Dr. Modi. I trust her and find her to be wonderful with my two sons.

The doctor's schedule conflicts with a working mom's schedule. The secretary isn't very efficient and doesn't always set up appointments correctly. The office manager refused to let me switch to a different doctor within the practice. She argued with me about my reason for switching. They charge $20 per child to have your records sent to another doctor.
