I had suffered pain from back injuries for two years. The pain progressed from lower back to my hip, then leg and ankle. I felt so desperate that I might never be cured after visiting chiropractor, physical therapists, and other doctors. However, upon my first visit with Dr. Yoon, my hope of recovery raised. He listened carefully about my story, explained explicitly to me what happened and answered my questions and concerns patiently. His confidence makes me calm and optimistic again about my health. Now I am about 6 weeks about my discectomy surgery, the pain is gone. I can do my favorite activities with my family again, and my whole quality of life improved! Upon my initial visit, Dr. Yoon asked why I was visiting? I laid out my problem as I saw it. I had been told by two other surgeons, I needed a fusion of my back. I told Dr. Yoon I wanted to avoid a fusion..and why. He actually spent time asking more questions and he LISTENED. He never appeared to be in a hurry to move on to another patient. He scheduled an MRI and upon completion told me he could help me, without having a fusion. During subsequent visits he never mislead me and built up unattainable expectations. Prior to surgery, I had legitimate bad anesthesia experiences. Again, he LISTENED and saw that my issues were addressed. I had been in constant grinding pain in my lower back. I suffered spasms. My right leg was losing strength and was numb. After he performed surgery, the grinding pain in my lower back was gone within a couple of weeks. My leg pain and numbness was immediately relieved. I'm not totally free of back pain, but I have had zero spasms since surgery.… I'm 71 years old and have arthritis and never expected to be cured 100%, with the surgery. However, the results of the surgery have exceeded my expectations. Dr Yoon is a kind Dr and his expertise are truly appreciated by me. If I ever had any additional health problems, my first call will be to him and Emory.

After several doctors gave up trying to figure out what was wrong with my back, Dr. Yoon diagnosed it immediately. He performed surgery on my back, restored me to 100% pain-free function, and gave me my life back. He is the absolute best!

Visited Dr. Joon for second opinion on a possible back surgery. Although he was knowledgeable he could have simply said “who know” in regard to providing viable information sought to make an informed consent about surgery. He vacillated between antidotal remarks and varying study results. Truly a waste of 20 minutes.

Dr. Yoon performed surgery on my back 3 months ago. I am completely satisfied with the results. I am continuing to heal, but just like Dr. Yoon predicted, the pain I was experiencing, daily, in my thighs and legs, would disappear after surgery and like magic, it did!.
