I went in for medical help for the ringing in my ears and pain in my ears. I was told the ringing was from hearing loss and i would lose my hearing within 5-10 years and there was nothing he could do. I was told the pain/pressure was from my tubes not working properly. All I was offered was to take Flonase which I’m already taking and Zyrtec. Is that going to make the tubes work properly? So from what I understand is I have to live with the ringing in my ears for the rest of my life and just lose my hearing. I just live with the pressure in my ears every day which when I went in I said they felt stopped up. I’m guessing Zyrtec will just fix that. I left feeling helpless. I wasted my time and money for no medical help at all. This makes me lose faith in going to see a doctor. Is it because I don’t have insurance and was self pay? Is it that I’m 53 and I don’t matter. I am not sure why I was treated this way , but it doesn’t seem right.

I saw Dr. Athavale for salivary stones. I was referred to him from the ER. I had never had issues in the past, but Dr. Athavale was very thorough in explaining what was happening. He ordered a CT scan and saw me back for follow up to go over the scan. I felt that he took his time with me and helped me understand all my options. He told me what to do if I had more stones in the future.

Dr. Athavale has performed 2 surgeries on me and all went well both times. He is straight forward, and lays out the facts very clearly and in terms I can understand. For me Dr. Athavale is a keeper and for those that have not been to Dr. Athavale yet - he'll be a great find! Great Dr.
