Dr. Sanjay S Vyas, DO

I have been with Dr Vyas since he was finishing his residency. He always takes time with his patients and he listens to what you say. His staff is good, Beth and Jamie are amazing! My husband, children and sister all think he is wonderful also! He tells you like it is, some may not want to hear that, but he is honest and caring! I trust his completely with the lives of my family and myself. No one else could even hold a candle. His wife was our pediatrician. She too is forth coming and doesn't sugar coat the answers. Isn't that what you really want in your medical care?

After calling Dr. Vyas for my regular monthly refill of a prescription that I taken for 20 years and monitored regularly, I was told to have labs drawn so that they could process the refill. I did so and called Dr. Vyas’s office two days later as my prescription still hadn’t been called in to my pharmacy. I was told that I needed to schedule a 6 month follow up visit (even though it had only been 4 months since my last visit). I did so, yet my medication was still not called in to the pharmacy two days later. I went to the the office in person and was then told that Dr. Vyas was now refusing to refill my prescription until I saw him for an appointment because I wasn’t complying with having it monitored (yet I literally went the to lab two days prior to have the labs drawn and regularly check and report my levels from my home machine). The medication is a life or death medication (blood thinner) that I have been on the same dosage for 20 years. Dr. Vyas’s staff said that I could… make an appointment to see him then but that he wouldn’t refill my prescription until I saw him (again this is not a controlled substance, but rather a blood thinner that is necessary to keep me alive). Why would I need to pay hundreds of dollars for a visit, when I’m not scheduled to do so for two more months, I had labs drawn as he requested, and I check my levels on my home monitor at minimum once per month? It sure seems to me like Dr. Vyas and his staff were willing to put my life in jeopardy all for the sake of making money with unnecessary office visits.

I recently moved to the Greenwood area, and was in need of finding a new doctor. My friend recommended Dr. Vyas to me, and I am sure glad she did! I have had only one visit with Dr. Vyas so far .. and I really liked the way he cared for me, and listened to my concerns. That is very important to me! He did not make me feel like I was just another patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Vyas to others.

I saw Dr. yesterday having several issues. He was very patient to address each of them and we will be on track in taking care of. He could tell I was stressed due to COVID. He in fact ask what I was doing the rest of day and replied go back home & look at 4/walls. He advised to go do something the rest of afternoon. My husband took me to dinner. I have been a patient 14/yrs. When I don't get answers I bring it to his attention. You have to work with and be honest with your Dr. in order for them to help you. Another thing if he doesn't have answers he sends you to someone who does. Thank-you Dr. Vyas I'm glad your a part of my life. Sharon

When I saw the score here I had to write a review. Dr. Sanjay Vyas is an amazing doctor. He listens to his patients, really listens, which is rare in the medical field. I and my family have been under his care for 20 + years. He does not lie to you or run unnecessary tests. He truly cares for his patients! Other doctors have told me that he is their physician of choice as well. I trust him with the lives of my husband and children, which is the highest rating I could provide anyone. I have had two doctors I believed I could trust completely in my lifetime. The other was Robert K Stirling, who no longer practices. If you want a doctor that will listen to how you really feel and be honest about your health issues, he is the one you want to see. It can be hard to get an appointment with him on short notice, but that is only because his patients really don't want to see anyone else! My husband also feels the same way about Dr. V (as most folks address him). He is never in… a hurry when he is talking to you. Only doctor I have seen that will just sit down and talk with you, not at you! He does not judge you either, which I find refreshing. He is EVERYTHING one should hope for in the Doctor! Penny Miguel

I inherited this doctor due to the retirement of my long time doctor. Dr Vyas simply uses labs every 6 months and says fine, when perhaps they are not---quick in and out, no attention

Dr. Vyas is friendly, wait times are usually no more than 15-25 minutes. Office visits are usually hurried and not very thorough. The really glaring problem is dealing with the office people who have absolutely no clue about dealing with patients in a professional manner. You most always are required to leave a message when you call the office, and most of the time the call is never returned. This happens all the time, so it usually requires you to make several calls to make an appointment or to get information. When you do speak to someone they are usually less than helpful and are often downright discourteous. I have had this experience with several different office people, not just a single person, so it seems that there is pervasive attitude in this practice that says it is alright to be disrespectful to patients and to not follow up on messages that are left.

Very caring and good doctor

Dr. Vyas is good at ordering labs and discussing results. Be careful because he will chart he did a full exam and bill your insurance for one when in the past 2 years he never touched me for an exam. He sat across the room discussed your labs and then repeated in 6 months.
