Summary
Cancer, once perceived as a death sentence, is now more treatable due to modern technology and prompt care. I believe cancer treatment should be timely, scientifically grounded, and involve a multidisciplinary approach. If I had to choose again, I would become a surgical oncologist. Helping cancer patients navigate their diagnosis, therapies, and recovery is both fulfilling and rewarding. After training in India and completing fellowships at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and The Ohio State University, I've worked for 30 years in surgical oncology, specializing in cancers of various organs. I'm particularly interested in regional therapies like T-VEC, CRS, and HIPEC, and have volunteered to expand these treatments abroad, including in Costa Rica.
