Dr. Sanka Samardzija, PhD

If you are looking for someone who can truly help you and who truly cares about you this is the psychologist for you. I have been going to her for several years now & I couldn't be happier. She is amazing at what she does....I've lived in other states so I've been to several therapists; not one of them comes close to Dr. S in knowledge and/or the compassion & care she shows at every appointment. She also spends extra time with you if need be, so sometimes it throws off other appointments she has, but she makes-up that time. Well worth the wait!

May be good for children but not appropriate for adults. Disrespectful and out of touch with some very basic things regarding neuropsychological problems. No sense of the client, did not listen, in a hurry, did not have file and important items missing from file.

My young son had major behavioral issues and was highly manipulative. We had been to five therapists (not psychologists) previous to seeing Dr. S. He played the therapists like fiddles as his behavior got worse. We saw a major difference in treatment the first day we took my son to Dr. S. Before she did anything, she tested him. She discovered he had an extremely high IQ and other issues that had not been previously diagnosed. Due to her testing, my son moved up a grade in school and was placed in the gifted program. Dr. S made sure my husband and I knew exactly what is going on, explaining to us not just the mental aspects but the physiological issues as well. She did not baby talk my son (like the other therapists) but told him like it was. My son quickly grew to respect and trust her. Even so, it was not a quick fix as my son was stubborn and habits die hard. Finally, one day all of the counseling and advice came together and my son finally "got" it. His behavior… has improved drastically. He no longer throws tantrums, he listens, and has become a better person and student. Dr. S saved our family and I would highly recommend her to any family.
