Dr. Sankar Sridaran, MD

Been patient at Scripps for years but new with Dr. Sridaran. Went in person as I knew I wanted him to examine my wrist, which has been bothering me for some time. I appreciated that he explained to me the honest truth about what I was experiencing: carpel tunnel and my options. I initially went in with the goal of getting an MRI or x-ray but he explained that imaging doesn't actually help unless I plan to have surgery, which I do not want. He gave me guidance on how to manage my symptoms, mostly from making behavioral changes, and i felt very included in the decision-making process. I appreciated him saving me from an unnecessary test and wish more doctors would do the same. Would definitely see again for my diabetes management as we did not have enough time. I did have to wait a little bit in the office as they were running behind but I do not think it is fair to give a doctor a bad review for office practices they cannot control.

Doctor Sridaran is thorough, kind, and smart. You have to believe in Integrative Medicine to appreciate him. He completed residency training in preventive medicine at UCSD before joining Scripps. The training allowed him to develop greater proficiency providing lifestyle prescriptions to address chronic disease, thereby reducing reliance on pharmaceutical or surgical interventions. Though I missed my formal primary doctor who retired in 2020, I feel I am again in good hands. TY

I was assigned to Dr. Sankar Sridaran after my Primary Care Dr. of 15 years retired this year. Dr. Sridaran is a new Dr. with 3-5 years experience, which may be the reason for the low rating. After learning several fibroids, a cervical cyst and ovarian cyst were seen on an MRI 4 years earlier and complaints of severe menstrual cramps and clotting, Dr. Sridaran proceeded to tell me many women have fibroids and I was likely reading too much into the findings. He was dismissive of the pain and suffering I was experiencing and had experienced for years, advised me I likely had endometriosis (without examining me) and told me he could not perform and procedures in office even if I did have fibroids. After a vaginal ultrasound was performed by radiology, the exact size and number of fibroids and cysts were counted and still Dr. Sridaran was dismissive of the findings. In my opinion and experience Dr. Sridaran lacks empathy, professionalism or bedside manner, especially in dealing… with women and the complexity of pain. I would recommend finding a Dr. with more experience than 3-5 years, who isn't dismissive or diminish your experience or symptoms and learns how to communicate more effectively with empathy.
