Dr. Sarah Jane Blank, MD

Highly intelligent & well-spoken surgeon but seemed to be in an extremely bad mood that day, and came across quite dismissive/closed-minded to hearing about the problems I'd presented + tried treating more conservatively for ~1.5yrs (some my entire life), and repeatedly framed issues that (according to scientific literature) are extremely nuanced/not fully understood as very "black & white" matters. She also admitted that she was not comfortable performing certain procedures because of risks involved for someone of my medical profile - which is totally fair, but attempting to then iterate that these surgeries were completely unrelated and would be ineffective for resolving my symptoms, after I'd tried making it extremely clear that I'd tried exhaustively resolving said symptoms more conservatively for... basically my entire life but especially the last 2 years, and that HER PRACTICE had previously confirmed certain ailments of mine via CT scan + gladly agreed to perform surgery for… them, seemed disingenuous at best. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but her framing on the matter & dismissive tonality made me feel extremely uncomfortable trusting her with such a serious medical procedure and as such I would advise pateints be weary of trusting her therein. In a nutshell, she seemed to "take personally" most constructive + respectful disagreement or questioning of her line of thinking on these matters and perhaps see them as me trying to push the issue further, when I'd made it clear basically that I respected her decision and did not want to push her to perform a procedure she was not comfortable doing.

She is awful and I don’t say that lightly. She spent about 2 minutes with me after I waited about 20 to see her. She asked me three questions, ignored my questions, wrote a prescription, and told me to get an MRI. I told her I was scared of the closed MRI, so she wrote another prescription, and shrugged her shoulders. Couldn’t even be bothered to tell me there is an open MRI in Reston. I got my MRI two weeks ago and she has NOT called to go over the results even after I called her (MRI of Reston, which is amazing!! Had the results back in less than 24 hours). Find a better ENT, don’t waste your time with her!

I went to this doctor for over a month with mixed severe hearing loss. She couldn't diagnose me and instead got more and more visibly frustrated that I kept coming back. Her manner was unprofessional and at points, almost rude. If you just have a sinus infection, she could help you but if not, try another ENT.

Extremely knowledgeable, fun doctor that made going to the doctor an easy experience. Will def go back.

was in a hospital close to Dr Blank, but not in her practicing area. She explained issues in a way I understood. She consulted with my physician , getting me out of the hospital quicker. I had a bad experience with Dr. Blank. I had an 8:00 am appointment, and was told to be there at 7:45 to fill out paperwork. I was there then, but the receptionist arrived at 8:05. At 8:35 I was escorted to an examination room. At 9:00, one hour after my appointment, I left without seeing the doctor or anyone else. No one explained or apologized for the wait.

I couldn't have been more grateful for Dr. Blank when I broke my nose during the holidays while 5 months pregnant. She made time for me in her already busy schedule. She talked me through the pros and cons of different treatment options in a way that felt relatable and made me feel comfortable with my decision. Her recommended way forward ended up being exactly what I needed, as I was able to avoid extensive procedures and my nose healed properly in less time than we originally anticipated. I have recommended Dr. Blank to everyone in the area who has needed an ENT and will continue to do so!

most memorable was that she solved my problem (itchy ear) when others had failed...has not recurred...i actually arrived about 30 minutes early and had been seen quickly and left a couple minutes befor my shed appt !!! she clearly understood my problem, explained in so i understood, and gave me all the time i needed. beautiful office. wish she was an orthopedic as well...
