Dr. Sarah R Florence, MD

I agree with the previous post, which also applies to adults. I've actually wondered if she is on the spectrum. Very odd and emotionally cold. Also what I would call a mildly "difficult" personality. Needed to make a medication change, and Dr. Florence failed to check in or follow up at all. Worse, she didn't share important information regarding the equivalent dose of the new medication vs. the old -- was just going on what had worked 6 yrs ago without ever pointing out that the equivalent dose is higher, so the dose I took was too low and I had no warning.

My son & I both found Dr. Florence unemotional & robotic-like. He refused to open up to her and he has NEVER had a problem talking with a doctor about his feelings..Her primary role in his treatment was medication management, not therapy. But a simple empathetic gesture like a warm smile or a kind word have helped in creating, if not a bond, at least a sense that she was interested in helping him. Unfortunately, she lacked either the desire or the ability to do so .
