Dr. Sarah Hecquet Juul, MD

She always refused to address my urgent and specific pleas for help, explaining we would have to wait to discuss them during the next session before she could take action... As a mental health professional myself, I find this unethical and impossible to understand.

Dr. Juul has terrible bedside manner and oftentimes just stares blankly at you. She also purposely billed me in a different manner after discontinuing treatment with her so that I would have to pay significantly more. Unbelievable.

I saw Dr Juul in 2012/2013 and only now am I coming to terms how bad the interactions were for me. I believed my gut feeling that something wasn’t right about dr Juul was just mental illness. I should have stopped seeing her and found someone else for therapy. Her manner is odd because she does stare at you blankly and you have to endure these awful silences at times. I felt chided when I questioned medication choices. She wasted an entire drive to her practice just to tell me face to face a billing issue which could’ve easily been taken care of over the phone. Seek help elsewhere

Dr. Juul, while probably very knowledgeable in her field, lacks any sort of bedside manner or approachability that would make her a decent psychiatrist. If you like psychiatrists who do not ask a ton of questions, but instead stare blankly at you after you've finished speaking, then perhaps Dr. Juul is right for you. If you like having your RX held hostage in exchange for scheduling extraneous appointments unrelated to your medication (which you have to pay your copay for if you cancel/reschedule regardless of how far out you cancel/move the appointment), then perhaps Dr. Juul is right for you. If you like being told that psychiatry is "more important than counseling" and that you are "not serious about your mental health" when you won't cancel your therapy sessions to fit the inflexible schedule she tells you your appointments are going to have, then oh boy, have I got a psychiatrist for you! In all, terrible experience from someone who is undoubtedly good at what she… does... if you can get through the muck and mire of coercion and zero personality.

Personality is strange. Not really helpful and does not like to prescribe medication. Not somebody I would recommend. Save your time and money.

I saw Dr. Juul for about two years, primarily during pregnancy and the postpartum period after my son's birth. I felt that she was a wonderful listener, very empathetic, and the best fit I've ever had for a psychotherapist. I was experiencing acute anxiety during pregnancy, which I was able to resolve quickly with Dr. Juul's help, and after that she worked with me with some other things that were going on in my life.

Personality is rather flat. Definitely a follower of Freudian theory. Punctual. Intelligent, but lacks common sense. Grave incorrect diagnosis given that has had horrible consequences. She may be able to help others, but after years being a patient, I am now worse off having been under her treatment.
