I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, both appointments I had with this provider left me feeling frustrated, confused, and without a clear understanding of my care plan. Her bedside manner was disappointing. She came across as combative and dismissive, and I never felt comfortable asking questions or discussing my concerns. My biggest frustration was that I left each visit with more questions than answers. I came in wanting to understand what the path forward was for diagnosing and treating my condition, but that was never clearly explained. Instead of leaving with confidence, I left feeling anxious and uncertain. She was also consistently late coming in to review my results, and when it came time to schedule my 8–10 week follow-up, even the scheduling staff was confused by the instructions in her notes. We couldn't determine whether I was supposed to have another ultrasound or what the next step in my treatment would be. That… lack of clarity was incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, I requested to see a different physician within the practice because I no longer felt comfortable continuing my care with her. I understand that physicians are busy, but patients deserve clear communication, empathy, and an explanation of their treatment plan. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Dr. Javier is the best! She is patient, kind, caring, and knowledgeable. She makes sure to take her time and explain everything in great detail and answers all questions throughly. She’s wonderful!

Dr. Javier has taken such great care of me during my current pregnancy. She has been kind, understanding, and extremely thorough. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

Isn’t my primary OGBYN but was nice

was a new patient meeting Dr. Javier for the first time after my longtime provider at Women's Health Associates left the practice. Unfortunately, I did not feel heard or understood during my appointment. When I tried to explain my medical history and family concerns, the conversation felt rushed and dismissive. I had requested a pap smear through the intake nurse because it had been two years since my last one and I have a family history that made me feel it was important. Dr. Javier informed me that it would not be performed because I was still within current screening guidelines. When I asked for clarification about those guidelines, the explanation came across as condescending rather than informative. There was also discussion about changing my current treatment plan, despite the fact that it had been helping manage ongoing symptoms. I brought up a condition that had been monitored for years by my previous provider through regular ultrasounds, but it seemed that history had not… been reviewed beforehand. Throughout the appointment, I felt interrupted several times and sensed that prior medical decisions made collaboratively with my former practitioner were being dismissed. By the end of the visit, I no longer felt comfortable expressing my concerns and decided this provider was not the right fit for me. I have already scheduled my next annual exam with a different practitioner within the practice. After being with Dr. Swainston’s practice for 20 years, I truly hope my next experience is more attentive and patient-centered, because I would hate to have to look elsewhere for care.
