Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Sulzner, MD

My mother became a new patient to Dr. Sulzner, after her internist of many years retired. The Doctor was wonderful. She is very personable and has a great bedside manner. You get the sense that she truly cares about you as an individual. Though, after my mother suffered a serious medical episode, she needed much paperwork to be completed by her office, including disability paperwork in order for her to receive some sort of income while on temporary leave. After weeks of nothing being accomplished and multiple phone calls and messages, I (a healthcare professional myself, intervened.) I was given the run around from several over the top rude people over the span of a two days. I finally was able to get an office manager on the phone, also extremely rude, who said she would help expedite this long over-due paperwork. Well, she did not. A week or so later, my mother had an appointment with Dr. Sulzner. She explained to her that her paperwork had not been done in an appropriate and… timely manner (a span of 1.5 months), as well as informed her of the people we interacted with. Dr. Sulzner left the exam room momentarily and when she returned, assured my mother this paperwork would be completed by the end of that business day. The very next day- all of her paperwork had indeed been completed and submitted. Every interaction since then, whether it me my mother, or myself, the office staff is consistently unpleasant and condescending. Being told that the woman who does this paperwork has "a huge stack and will get to it when she gets to it" and also last night when my mother reached of for an appointment after being hospitalized just days before. As a result of being hospitalized, she missed an appt. w/ the Dr. When she was no offered an appointment within a reasonable time frame, she asked the receptionist if her meds which required the dr. to authorize could at least be refilled in the interim, the staff person replied "I can't do that, and you missed your appointment, you did this to yourself." Saying this to a patient who has suffered 2 strokes within the past 12 months. I am filing several complaints within their institution as well as with the BBB as to the way in which this office staff has been allowed to treat people. Once you make it past combative schedulers your and the uncomfortable atmosphere of the waiting room and finally get back into an exam room with Dr. Sulzner, it's like a breath of fresh air.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Sulzner. I've had some health issues for months now and have seen other doctors. I decided to go to Dr Sulzner not knowing what to expect. She truly is compassionate and took the time to listen. Not once did I feel rushed. My last doctor would easily dismiss many of my symptoms. Not Dr Sulzner!!! We put a plan together to feeling well. Talking to her nurse and receptionist, her other patients are pleased. She is new to the clinic but don't let this deter you from going to her. She really knows what she is doing and you will never feel like your questions are left unanswered. I just cannot say enough great things about her.
