Dr. Satheesh Muppavarapu, MD

Rude and not very well liked by the staff at the rehab hospital I was at. He actually told me during the first week I was an inpatient and unable to stand or walk, that Medicare would not cover this and I would probably have to leave. I was hysterical when my daughter called and she was livid when I told her what he said. She called the case manager of the facility and asked to speak to the doctor. She gave her contact number and was told her message would be forwarded to him. A day and a half went by with no returned call. When I next saw him, I asked if he had gotten the message from my daughter. He said he had but he doesn’t return phone calls or make phone calls to patient families. I called the director of the facility and he said the Dr, (he goes by Dr Muppa), was wrong about the coverage and misspoke. He did apologize and after that he was A LOT nicer to me. He must have had his hand slapped. Seems knowledgeable but needs to brush up on his people skills.
