Dr. Satywan Chhabria, MD

Dr Chhabria essentially saved my husbands life by listening and paying attention to what my husband and I relayed to him regarding symptoms my husband was having. He recognized right away that he was having stroke symptoms and sent him immediately to the ER for tests then had him admitted, staving off what could have been a major incident. We have both built up a great Dr/patient relationship with Dr. Chhabria and find him to be attentive and thorough in treating us when we visit his office.

Dr. satyawan is thorough. My son had recurrent infection of nose. he correctly identified as an issue with septum and after surgery it was corrected.

My experience as a 46 year old male was switching to him, a doctor very close to my home, to go to a closer doctor with a smaller office and his appeared to be a little less "institutionalized" as my former primary. I did go on a recommendation from a woman in her 60's but also heard from one other to beware of their ability and competence in refilling prescriptions. I understand now why it's important to have more than one staff member when you are part of a group like baptist and I appreciate my old physician now more than ever. The decision he made to break up my annual physical into 2 visits and some of the actions he took when I was there raised red flags, but the inability to get my very important prescription in on time on a regular basis was the real concern. For the physical, after explaining my history which has no track record of heart disease but my brother and father do have prostate issues, he skipped checking my prostate and instead gave me an ekg. Something I have… never been given during a physical. I think I know why he did that now, I ended up getting a bill for it because it's not covered by my insurance. But as mentioned, getting a very important prescription filled took a lot of maintenance on my part by having to call the office over and over again to get them to send it in. I had to do this every 2 months for a non-narcotic medicine I have been taking for over 15 years that has very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Then after 5 months he denied the prescription and wanted me to schedule another visit before refilling. In the meantime I had 2 doses left but those concerns fell on deaf ears. Fortunately when I called my old primary, he promptly refilled my script and set me up for the remainder of the year. I had my previous well visit record sent to my old (now new again) primary and then I promptly received a bill for a visit from 3 months ago that never happened. Seems a little suspicious. Overall my impression is that his practice is a bit sketchy. I can't afford that in today's climate of bad insurance coverage. Lesson learned.

First off I just wanted to comment on the review before me. Dr. Chhabria has been my doctor for over 8 years now and has never acted inappropriate and is always professional! Why would someone go to Dr Chhabria for depression instead of going to a psychiatrist, sounds like this person has other psych issues. He now has a new receptionist who is outstanding! I highly recommend Dr. Chhabria! He always listens and spends time with you instead of rushing you out of his office like other physicians have done in the past. Even during the this past holiday when the office was closed I had an awful earache and was called back immediately! My husband and I are so fortunate to have him as our physician!

Dr. Chhabria has been my primary care physician since about 2006 ( see my review of Jan 14th, 2010). Due to a job change and move of over 100 miles I will no longer be able to see him. I hope I can find another physician who is such a careful listener.

Great doctor, great staff. I had an infection 2 days before my wedding. They got me in the same day and every time I have gone, the wait has always been 5-10 min. A+++

After his move to the location on Hodges Blvd., he appeared to be solely motivated by money. With his designation as my primary physician, I was stunned that I was not allowed to speak to him about MORE THAN 2 of my concerns/issues- I would have to schedule another appt. More alarmingly, rather than taking a conservative and safer approach, he prescribed what is considered a high dosage of statin drugs- 5mg. of CRESTOR (the higher the dosage, the higher risk of deleterious side effects). Not only were there other, proven drugs that have been in the marketplace longer such as Lipitor, but to begin with a 5mg. dosage fails the risk vs. benefit analysis.
