Dr. Saul Kennth Sokolow, MD

Patient, kind, Wonderful at his profession. Been with for 20 yrs.

Dr. Sokolow was recommended to me by a friend who had had a baby a little over a year before we did. After the meet the doc appt. we decided on the spot to go with him. Since then we have been nothing but happy. He takes all the time we need, answers our questions, and as a worrisome father who frets about the littlest things, he always takes the time to not dismiss my concerns but explain why it's not a concern overall. I read the previous reviews about his bedside manner, and that compelled me to write a review of my own. I can see where people might think it is lacking, but everyone is different with different expectations. I have found his bedside manner to be very good. He is good with my kids, he is good with my wife and I. I do see where some people might think he is condescending towards them - especially new parents as I noticed that too but it's in how you get to not only know the doc, but how you deal with him too. Anytime something this this crept up, we made it… clear that we knew what we were doing in regards to anything with our children and have their best interests in mind always. A few times of standing up for ourselves and all that went away. I honestly think that some people might take his unique way of talking or emphasizing things the wrong way. The only real complaint would be that he is not much for breast feeding and my wife was 100% for it, so any issues or questions were met with some resistance, but it was easily worked around. Overall we love that Dr. Sokolow is the one we take our children to see. Like I said, he spends all the time we need, answers everything not only so we understand it, but in detail as well. People only seem to write about the negatives. I've always thought that there is a reason why getting an appointment with some doctors is hard. Usually it's because of demand, and demand is a good thing.

Dr Sokolow is very knowledgable ~ no question on this. His bedside manor is lacking. And his attitude toward parents is no better - you will be spoken down to. I have no idea why I had my kids stay so long here - it got to a point where I dreaded taking them to the doctor and they did too! It got worse as they grew older.

avoids x-rays, relented a month later to discover a broken ankle.refused to listen to adolescent teen, missed the ADHD, now we're dealing with that and Anxiety Disorders.Runny Noses only. Get out when your kids can speak for themselves.

Very knowledgeable, but a bit condescending with new parents (and then also with parents of subsequent children! figure that). Not really worth the drive when there are many pediatricians closer to home
