Dr. Savanna Lynn Simmerman

Savanna Simmerman is a dermatology Physician Assistant with a special interest in medical and procedural dermatology. She started her medical career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Palmer, Alaska, where she learned to listen to patients, pay close attention to detail, and be a valuable member of a healthcare team. During this time, she earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the University of Alaska Anchorage. During her senior year, she worked closely with her professor to complete a research project that was published in the magazine the Senior Voice, earning her departmental honors from UAA. Inspired to do more, she received her Masters of Clinical Health Sciences degree from the University of Washington MEDEX Physician Assistant Program. Her clinical rotation in dermatology took her to Advanced Dermatology of Alaska where she worked with Dr. Galler and fell in love with dermatology. Today, Savanna works closely with Dr. Galler and Dr. Dorizas to treat a wide …variety of dermatologic conditions across the lifespan. In her free time she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and spending time with friends and family. As are most Alaskans, Savanna is a nature enthusiast, notably being awarded the Liza Benson memorial scholarship from MEDEX in 2024.
