Dr. Scellig S. D. Stone, MD, PHD, FRCSC

Dr. Scellig S. D. Stone, MD, PhD, FRCSC, is Co-Director of the Epilepsy Center, Director of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, and Neurosurgical Director of the Movement Disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as an associate professor of neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School. Internationally recognized for his expertise in pediatric functional neurosurgery, he specializes in epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation, movement disorders, spasticity, hydrocephalus, and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques including MRI-guided laser ablation and stereoelectroencephalography (sEEG). Dr. Stone earned both his medical degree and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Toronto and completed his neurosurgery residency there before pursuing the prestigious Shillito Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition to his clinical leadership, he has pioneered advanced neurosurgical therapies …for children with epilepsy and dystonia and is widely respected for integrating cutting-edge neuroscience research with compassionate, multidisciplinary, family-centered care.
