Dr. Scott Dale Cordes, MD

After two failed hip surgeries resulting in a fall I developed chronic pain and a right leg that was 1 and a quarter inch shorter then my left leg I had the great fortune of finding Doctor Cordes. After viewing my Xray he discerned I needed a total hip replacement on my right hip. I was just hoping he could relieve the chronic pain from the avascular necrosis that generated from the last two operations. Not only did Doctor Cordes completely relieve my pain but my right leg was once again the same length as my left leg. He is truly a miracle worker and a very nice person. Thank you Doctor!!!! Susan

His bicep tendon surgery was worrisome. Moments before going under, after an anesthesia drip already started, he steps into my waiting/recovery room for the first time and tells me he's going to try to make fewer cuts into the area than originally explained. After the surgery he doesn't speak to myself or spouse about what he discovered or did. We just didn't see him, and the nurses were baffled that he didn't speak with us. I worry that the surgical method used may not be as effective as the one he described would be followed during our initial interview. He never explained why he changed his method. I also worry that he didn't understand or remember that I use my bicep for physical day-to-day activities, including heavy weightlifting. Far in advance of the surgery my uses of it were communicated to him verbally and to his assistant in writing. Further, his memory didn't seem to work well the times I spoke with him. Perhaps he goes too quickly between patients. Ultimately, if… this surgery went well, I won't know from him or his care staff, who had no idea what he did the day of the surgery and could only assume during post op sessions.

Great bedside manner and very informative.

I sustained a torn ACL and meniscus in 1993. I saw a local ortho and wasn't happy with his demeanor or presentation. I was referred to Dr. Cordes, thankfully. I underwent an ACL reconstruction using my own patella in 1993. Dr. Cordes is an amazing doctor and I always found his staff to be very professional. A special thanks to Dr. Cordes as I just returned from another skiing trip and my knee continues to function beautifully. I am always reminded and thankful after I engage in higher intensity sports.

Dr. Cordes really is a wonderful doctor. He spends time with you and explains everything about the procedures you may need. He doesn't pressure you to have any surgery

I was treated for a fracture of my left femur (due to a fall) after I arrived in the Emergency Room at Northwestern Memorial. Dr. Cordes performed the operation several hours later. I consider myself very fortunate having been treated by a wonderful, experienced, and concerned surgeon. As he assured me a year ago, I'm able to continue with my day-to-day activities withouth a problem. I would highly recommend Dr. Cordes to anyone and thank goodness he was available when I needed a great surgeon.

I have a torn miniscus and was referred to Dr. Cordes by a friend after visiting another doctor that I wasn't feeling comfortable with at all. Everything went smooth sailing from start to finish and I was super impressed by not only the doctor himself, but his entire staff was wonderful. Very easy to work with! I would recommend Dr. Cordes to anyone in need of a great doctor and overall experience.

I have been going to Dr. Cordes for over 10 years and he is by far my favorite doctor. I have sent many friends and family to see him and everyone loves him. His surgeries on all of us have been successful. He is warm and caring and the ultimate professional. I could NOT give him a higher recommendation. He's the best out there.
