Dr Scott M. Dewhirst, MD

Dr. Dewhirst is an exceptional doctor. He is very patient, kind, and attentive. He has a calm caring demeanor and takes your concerns seriously. I never feel rushed during our visits and I always leave my appointments feeling that my mental health is in excellent hands. His skills as a psychiatrist are improving my life. I am extremely grateful that he is my doctor.

Dr. Dewhirst is the worthy successor of Dr. Pleasons. He is very knowledgeable, attentive, and effective. During the office visit, all concerns are addressed and a plan of treatment is established, so you never leave the office with the same open-ended questions you arrived with. Delicate topics are always approached with professionalism and compassion. He genuinely cares about the patients' wellbeing. I had waited 1.5 years for my initial appointment with Dr. Pleasons, and I would have done the same for Dr. Dewhirst if necessary (i.e., if I wasn't already a patient of the practice) to receive the superb quality of care.

I had a lot of anxiety when my psychiatrist of many years retired. Dr Dewhirst spent about an hour with me on our first visit. It was evident that he had reviewed my chart carefully and we talked about my history of bipolar disorder. I feel I am in great hands.
