Dr. Scott Richard Johnston, MD

If you want to save your self some aggravation "Do Not" use Johnston Pain Management. The Staff is useless, they don't answer the phone, they don't reply to emails, they don't respond to their own website communicator. Johnston is never punctual or even close to it. I have never seen a doctor so far behind on his schedule that his staff prepares for him. If you have an appointment with him plan on a minimum of an hour after your scheduled appointment to just get called to the patient room and another thirty minutes for Johnston to see you. After waiting more than an hour past your scheduled appointment my mental health definitely took a decline after discussing this situation with his front desk as they couldn’t understand how unsatisfactory this is for any patient to endure. This was not an exception but the normal for everyone of my visits. His attitude is self absorbed, arrogant, self centered and unsympathetic to his patients for their ailments and their time. I can't reiterate how… useless Johnston Pain Management is. A one star is being too kind!

Everyone in office from Dr. Johnston to Clinical, Nurse, Billing all employees are the nicest, professional, knowledgeable people I've had the pleasure to work with on my pain issues. I have & will continue to recommend them to anyone in need. Thank you all.

Treat you like you've done something wrong already. If you jump through enough hoops and beg you may get what you need. What he thinks you need. If you don't get enough don't text dirty or you are through. He'll tell you to take ibuprofen. Very rude in not compassionate at all!

Today was my first visit with Dr.Johnston, I was seen on time the doctor seemed to know what he was talking about and went over exactly what would be injected, the receptionists were friendly the nurse helped me in the restroom and the billing staff explained to me exactly what I needed. Overall I had a great experience today we will see how my injection goes

I was treated like a turd in a urinal by Johnston and company. Somebody has to finish at the bottom of the class in medical school. It was a waste of my time.

They make you fell like you are they just to get meds and sell them. The first time I ever went to a pain managment was through them, i had to take a pee test ( not a problem) but they wouldnt let me take my 6 month old son in the bathroom with me?? The staff was extremely rude, and made me feel unwelcome. The "doctor" i seen told me I was too young to be in the amount of pain I said I was in..hello I was beaten and had and still have three buldging disc in my neck! This plave is a joke, its mkre for older people with arthritis, then people that actually need help. If you need a real doctor that cares about you and not the money or how fast they can go home head to Morehead or New Bern!

I went there for treatment of chronic pain. I needed trigger point and epidural injection. He kept me coming back and did nothing. I would wait for over an hour in pain and he did nothing. He wanted to hook me on narcotic and he told me that if I didn't have a certain level in my blood he would assume I was selling them. I wanted beat the crap out of him. I suspect that he was fraudulently billing Medicare and that is why he was having me come in and doing nothing.Avoid this joker unless you want to suffer needlessly.

A few months ago I was on a motorcycle going to lunch and a drunk on duty police officer smashed into me. Needless to say I had multiple fractured and shattered bones. After spending two hours waiting to see the highly over rated Dr. I was told I would have to wait an additional two hours to see them because of a computer error on their part. This is a pain management office, I was in pain. There was no way I was going to sit, stand, or lay in that office for that long so I left. Upon leaving I encountered the good Dr. in the parking lot practicing his golf swing. I will never go back.

I am stuck going to this office as it is the only one in town. I ALWAYS have to wait over an hour and that is no matter what time your appointment is! They are more concerned on how many pills are left in your bottle then actually helping you!! The PA HATES giving out pain meds and will try to put you on arthritis meds and always looks down on me. They will actually call your pharmacy to see if you really have refills left on your meds. If you can go elsewhere DO IT!!
