Dr. Scott Katz, MD

We have taken our son to Dr. Katz for 8 years now, and have never really had an issue, as he has never really been to see Dr. Katz outside of an annual check-up. However, we just now needed him to help us out for our sick son, and he flat out denied it. After 3 calls trying to get this resolved, I asked for Dr. Katz specifically to call me back, so that we could discuss this issue figuring after 8 years without a request for him, it was the least he could do. Conversely, the same nurse called me back an hour later with the same information, and when asked why Dr. Katz didn't call as I had asked, she said well he has a lot of other patients...and I don't have clients I should be helping as I am calling him? So to overtly imply his time was more valuable than mine, and subsequently more valuable than my son's well being, I have to say Dr. Katz is just like the many other doctors whose approach to their practice is it's just a job and he is not going to sacrifice his special time or… energy to help a patient.

We have used Dr. Katz for 8 years. We have only needed him for annual physicals, as when our son was sick we used either an urgent care clinic, or had to see his nurse practitioner; moreover, when we actually needed help, he was nowhere to be found. We spoke to the nurse over a legitimate concern we had for our son's health, and asked to specifically speak with him and have him call us back. The nurse called back an hour later and said the same as before, saying Dr. Katz has a lot of other patients to see, implying his time was more valuable than mine, and more valuable than my son's well being. I asked to speak with him one time in 8 years-and it was denied. So think of that when you're choosing someone to look after your child. All this to say, he's great if you just need him for physicals, but if you want him to go above and beyond for you-it's not going to happen. In this day and age, all my other doctors will speak with me anytime, it's like he thinks it's the 1970s in his… outdated approach to patient relationships.

My children have been seeing Dr. Katz since my oldest (now 4 years old) was born. He is an amazing Dr, great bedside manners, always answers any questions we have and my son LOVES going to his appointments. We recently moved a bit further away, but still make the drive to Plano for my kids to see Dr. Katz.

I absolutely love plano Pediatrics! The staff are very friendly and helpful, I never have to wait long in the waiting area. Dr. Katz is an awesome pediatrician, he is very knowledgeable and has taken great care of my little one!

Love Dr. Katz. Been seeing him since my son was born 9 years ago. My son had kidneys problems at birth, later required surgery, and was a constant medical mess for the first two years. Dr. Katz was always available and reassuring. Years later, I brought my baby girl in. She had a pretty high fever. He was pretty sure it was a virus, but he still took blood and urine and ran tests in both to rule out a UTI or bacterial infection. No matter why we are there, well or sick visit, my kids always get a full physical. He doesn't cut corners. He is pro-vaccine; however, I don't approve the annual flu vaccines and he leaves me alone about. If we see someone at Pediatrics After Hours, which is their partner after hours care, someone from his office calls to check on us the next morning. If we are in for something more severe, they call and check in 48 hours after the appt. Seriously love this doctor.

Dr. Katz is the best! My son loves him and my husband and I do too! He is honest and trustworthy. He listens to our concerns and always goes the extra mile. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a pediatrician.

Like another patient's parent said, this Dr. will only smile when your child has well check up. If your child is sick, he will send you to see specialist. My child was sick twice, was sent away twice. Left him and never looked back.

Doctor Katz is wonderful and my kids respond well to him. I have three children and I would never take them to another office! Wonderful staff and doctors!

Dr. Katz will not even try to treat my child. Every time my kid has health problem, he is sending her to see a specialist. Good only to smile on well office check up. Find another Dr.

We had more issues with the staff and service of the staff then Dr. Katz, himself. We hardly were able to schedule an appt with him...the only available appts were with the P.A.s, which were helpful most of the time. One of the nurses called my son a "she" repeatedly throughout the initial consultation...while she was reviewing "his" chart...didn't pay much attention to him at all...barely made eye contact with us. Just ran through a list of questions and left. We switched doctors.
