Dr. Scott Lee Kosfeld, MD

I have been blessed to be a patient of Dr. Scott Kosfeld since 1997. He has always been a patient, attentive, competent and compassionate doctor and he also helps to calm my overall anxiety that I have with medical visits. His office staff is also wonderful and they answer the phone promptly during normal office hours and when a message needs to be left I always get a prompt call back to follow up my message. They also employ an answering service after hours for emergencies and to allow messages to be taken by a live human. They are prompt at faxing lab requisitions and refilling needed prescriptions. If they need to call you to discuss lab results they will continue trying until they reach you in person to discuss those. Dr. Kosfeld and Island Family Physicians you are the greatest!

After many years as my GP I would no longer recommend him. Dr. Kosfeld/ nurse do not return calls. After 10 days of waiting for medication I never heard from them. I needed blood work..he never called it it. Dr. Kosfeld is not caring and has ignored me now for two weeks. If you need a good caring Dr. He’s not the one.

If you want things the way they used to be you this is place for you, It will seem as if you go back in time to old time medicine. Good luck no follow up no contact just wait to wither away

Dr. Kosfeld is compassionate as well as very knowledgeable. We can talk with him about any medical issues easily. He spends time with his patients talking and assessing our medical needs. Thanks to Dr. Kosfeld, we stay healthy.

I have been going to Dr. Scott Kosfeld for 20 years since 1997 and am highly satisfied with he and his office staff. He is non-pushy, non-judgmental, guiding and encouraging instead of lecturing and ordering in terms of lifestyle/recommended health screenings etc. I am a fearful patient and he is very patient and kind with me when I am afraid. He is also an excellent listener and does not interrupt, unlike a lot of doctors. I was also pleased with the amount of time he spent with me. The office also responds very promptly to requests for prescription refills and faxing of lab slips to laboratories. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Kosfeld

The biggest challenge with this doctor appears to be his support staff. The scheduling and follow-up both in regards to patient and tests is dismal to say the least. This is a good doctor with a practice that needs significant practice improvement. Multiple times I have been left on hold indefinitely or have not received the expected call back. HIPAA laws have been used as an excuse for the delays even though I am well aware of the regulations and completed the required paperwork. I hope the Dr's in this practice can wake up and see what the poor management of the clinic is doing to their reputation.

Spends as much time as you need/want. Never in a rush. Explains throughly!

The doctor is exceptional, but the office is a frustrating experience. No feed back or lab work or tests, no return of calls, and slow responses for referrals. The doctor is a wonderful diagnostician, and a caring person, but when you leave the office, nothing happens unless the patient makes assertive steps for follow up.

Dr. Kosfeld is wonderful. The Staff is the problem. They don't follow through in alerting doctor to your needs and if you need paperwork for any reason , forget it. They will not process it until threatened with attorneys.

Not every diagnosis is easily recognized. Dr. Kosfeld takes the time to study the problem and consider all possibilities. His manner is comforting and reassures the patient that he/she is receiving 100% of the Dr.'s attention. There is no question about the Dr.'s competence or concern for the patient's welfare. The office could use some better organization. Perhaps an office manager.
