Dr. Scott Patrick Leary, MD

Can only speak for myself of course. Everything he promises, demand it in writing! Not saying bad surgeon, but zero medical ethics which is worse! Was very hesitant having major thoracic fusion, and now all know no surgeon with all the info & records would. He guaranteed 100% X6 times if we did it. I was in a lot of pain, but was 90% of it was my paraspinals were damaged, and he knew it. Other Doc he knows saw it all and was concerned. I asked Leary to talk to him. That day I asked leary if he did, and said yes. With major promises, & other doc stating this surgery won't be affected I said yes! Of course 5 seconds before going under he made me sign saying no promises were made. At that point, I did it, waiting for mask to put me under. After 3 months when I knew it went horribly and was 20 times worse, I asked other Doc and he stated he didn't speak with Leary about it, omg! I am now fully disfigured with giant muscles sticking out and extreme pain & half my back major nerve… damage also. with this they still say my back is perfect. my personal experience with Dr. Leary & staff is beware & go somewhere else. If not at least get all his promises in writing. I trusted Dr. Leary with my life, and he betrayed all medical ethics which I am paying a heavy price.

Constantly in a bad mood in the OR. No one likes working with him because he lacks the leadership skills to effectively communicate with staff.

2 years ago. He saved my moms best friend of 55 years and our Dad! From 5 brain bleeds. With the help of our Lord! Whom helped in guiding Dr. Leary. Thank you for your knowledge in your field. Your confidence in your actions!

Had four surgery, excellent care

Dr. Leary performed two microdisceromies on my back. Other neurosurgeons were unwilling to do the 2nd surgery but Dr. Leary did and I had a complete recovery with no deficits. ...and got my life back. ...Pain free. I recently underwent a stem cell procedure and hoping for regeneration. If it were not for Dr. Leary I would still be in tremendous pain and no hope for improvement/regeneration. I can't say enough wonderful things about Den Leary and his wonderful staff.

I had back surgery with Dr. Leary and unfortunately it backfired. I have had more back pain in the last 6 years since my operation than I ever had before the operation. I will tell prospective patients that getting a back operation isn't always the right answer. It isn't just Dr. Leary, but surgeons who push a person to have an operation that doesn't improve the back but makes it worse.

smart, compassionate & performed THREE complicated surgeries. He is brilliant. I was misdiagnosed by a minimum of 6-7 physicians & he got the situation immediately,. His MA, Laura, read my first email & I was in surgery in less than a week. If not for Dr. Leary & his staff I would be in a wheelchair either as a quadriplegic or paraplegic.

In my opinion Dr. Leary is a joke if you are not 1 of his success stories he just passes you on to a pain specialist who is running his office out of a mop closet that is baffled that I was even sent to his office,because Dr Leary practices the same medicine and or pain options.I'm not looking to get pills pushed on to me I'm looking for answers about my feet being numb and a vibration in my left leg that's consistent,but apparently he doesn't have any answers.So I would not recommend this Dr to anyone for his lack of compassion to his patients that do not benefit from one of his surgeries
