Dr. Scott Thomas Maurer, MD

My wife and I moved to Florida 4 yrs. ago. Dr. Maurer provided the finest medical care for us over the 10 years we lived in Glenwood. By every metric, he provided a "5 star", holistic approach to our primary care. We have not been able to acquire a primary care physician down here that even comes close to his level. Having this man as your PCP is the last thing you want. His practice is like an assembly line. He doesn't care about his patients and it definitely shows. He has far too many patients, so he will only spend about 5-10 minutes with you. To say the appointments are rushed is an understatement. It seems like he prioritizes profit over his own patients. He also won't listen to what you have to say and seems to get annoyed if you ask questions. From my experience, the diagnoses he made were often incorrect. He is arrogant and has a poor bedside manner. Your PCP is supposed to coordinate your care across specialists and hospital visits; I found myself coordinating my own care and being my only advocate.

Dr. Maurer is a highly trained and effective physician with the warmth of a country doctor. My wife and I are moving to FL in a year, and worry about having care of this caliber subsequent to our move.

Dr. Maurer is easily accessible and concerned and knowledgeable about medicine. His calm manner is soothing and he has a sense of humor to relax you as a patient.
